Principles

 

Perhaps it is not easy

to suppress prejudice against

another nation

a different skin color

faith other than your own.

 

Perhaps it is not easy

in the name of instilled principles

to refrain from hatred or

executing death sentences

because they tell us it’s ok,

or we think

that we have the right to inflict

also mental one

human pain.

 

It's worth

stopping and reflecting on the meaning of

such unworthy acts.

Awaking in oneself

love and tolerance,

replacing evil with good.

It takes more than pulling a trigger,

or in a any other way destroying a person.

Zasady

 

Być może nie jest łatwo

zdusić uprzedzenia do

jakiegoś narodu

innego koloru skóry

wiary innej niż własna.

 

Być może nie jest łatwo

w imię wpojonych zasad

powstrzymać się od nienawiści,

wykonywania wyroków śmierci

bo tak ktoś każe,

albo sami uważamy,

że mamy prawo być nosicielami

nawet tej psychicznej

ludzkiej krzywdy.

 

Warto

zastanowić się nad sensem

niegodnych czynów.

Urodzić w sobie

miłość i tolerancję,

zło zastąpić dobrem.

To więcej niż nacisnąć cyngiel.

czy inaczej niszczyć człowieka.

He gives his voice to the reason of the people of the world,

and knows,

that the atomic bomb brings death.

who takes the Hippocratic oath

heals,

but also knows

that for individuals and nations the most important

is not only health, but also peace.

 

He,

who is able to cement

the wisdom of words with deeds

does not need to take oaths

to prevent the collapse of reality.

który ma dar widzenia

możliwej złej przyszłości

Oddaje swój głos rozsądkowi ludzi świata,

wie,

że bomba atomowa niesie śmierć.

leczy,

że dla jednostki i narodów najważniejsze

jest nie tylko zdrowie, ale też pokój.

Origins

 

In memory of Ralph Bunche

winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1950.

He believed that

man is not deprived of goodness,

but he should bring it out of himself.

 

It’s a mistake

to divide people

on the basis of their origin.

 

Harmony in the world

should exist not only for colorblind people.

They, unable to differentiate skin colors,

what tolerance and acceptance mean.

give back

the words peace and freedom

meaning.

 

Wars are not only about fighting and suffering,

człowiek nie jest pozbawiony dobra,

powinien je wydobywać z siebie.

to podział ludzi

ze względu na pochodzenie.

 

Harmonia w świecie

nie tylko dla daltonistów.

Obojętni na różnice w kolorze skóry

wiedzą,

czym jest tolerancja i akceptacja.

 

Dążył do tego,

by słowa pokój i wolność

były

tym samym,

co ich znaczenie.

 

Wojny to nie tylko walki i cierpienie,

ale też utrata godności.

Każdy powinien

mieć widoki na nowy dzień.

 

Życiu trzeba dać szansę!

ELIZA SEGIET graduated with a Master's Degree in Philosophy at Jagiellonian University. Received Global Literature Guardian Award – from Motivational Strips, World Nations Writers Union and Union Hispanomundial De Escritores (UHE) 2018. Nominated for the Pushcart Prize 2019 and 2021. Laureate Naji Naaman Literary Prize 2020, International Award Paragon of Hope (2020), World Award 2020 Cesar Vallejo for Literary Excellence. Laureate of the Special Jury Sahitto International Award 2021, World Award Premiul Fănuș Neagu 2021. Finalist Golden Aster Book World Literary Prize 2020.  It is in the last stage of an international competition Mili Dueli 2020. At the international Festival of Poetry CAMPIONATO MONDIALE DI POESIA (2021/2022) she won the title of vice-champion of the world. Award BHARAT RATNA RABINDRANATH TAGORE INTERNATIONAL AWARD (Marc 2022).
