DEBORAH W. SETIYAWATI

DEBORAH W. SETIYAWATI

NIGHT ANGLE

Every corner has its own story

Whether the pores of each wall are ears?

Maybe yes

But those ears

have become deaf

Too full to hear

the sigh of sin

when the brume closes at the dusk

Will the morning come soon?

The night was too long

As if without end

No finale

Stuck in the night corner

MORNING IN THE VALLEY

I will be the most fortunate one
Living between mountains
Silence will fall like dews
On green carpet underneath
I shall walk in the tranquility
Until I look at clouds
With my quiet eyes
While the wind fondles the grass
And the grass rise
I shall walk through the still vale
With the melody of peace
Amongst a thousand flowers
What spread the morning fragrance

THIRSTINESS

I miss you, greatly
I want to hear your voice
But what I obtain?
Only the swish of the wind
Rustling friction of stalks
Under the scorching sol

I miss you, greatly
Should I die, here
At the edge of the fountain?
