DONNA MCCABE

Bottled Up...

Bottled up emotions

Stashed away for too long

Fermenting and brewing

Beginning to pull me down

Drown me in a sour aftertaste

I need a sprinkle of sweetener

To bring me back to reality

Releasing all the negativity at last

Having a free and peaceful heart.

Cobwebs Of Monotony

Something needs to give

To change

These cobwebs of monotony

Have laid their claim here

Draped and coated

Everywhere I turn I see them

Everything is the same

Day in, day out

The same tedious

Repetition and routine

Bittersweet Poetry...

Spilled ink on paper

In books and online

Stirs up a torrent of emotions

Relatable to ones mind

Memories, sentiments

Of all sorts and all kinds

Bittersweet poetry

Can heal us all given time.

Flames Of Passion

You are the fuel to the flames

That ignite my desire

Bringing my passions to new heights

Before they transpire

Leave me breathless

And contented

Sedated with love

So compatible are we

Like a hand to a glove.

Winds Of Wishes...

I exhale all my dreams and desires

Send them out into the world

When the winds of wishes blow...

Coming Undone...

Watch me fall apart again

After being strong for so long

Having an emotional overload

To the tune of an old song

Like a cup that's overflowing

The tears they fall like rain

I'm breaking apart at the seams

From this outpouring of emotional pain.
