GEETHANJALI DILIP

The Wonder Of It All

In Earth’ s womb where watery placenta births many a surprise,

A myriad species emanate meant to delight our eyes,

Each entity created dazzling in individuality to arise,

This variegation created for a purpose none can surmise!

Like a rainbow that arches in the horizon of colours seven,

Hemmed together in water droplets searing through the heaven,

Endless is the process of evolution in dimensions uneven,

Yet everything co-exists in its own time frame in unison.

Imagine if everything were the same, how monotonous!

Nothing unique, nothing different, nothing splendorous,

While we are endowed with a vision wondrous,

We may as well revel in God’s creation tremendous!

Cosmic Serenade

Unleashing itself like a starburst sending out sparks,

Nothingness has a mind of its own as on creation it embarks,

Who decides who is born and where is an enigma,

As life comes in the speed of light from a Supernova!

So we land on planet Earth hurtling in Space and Time,

Invisible yet bursting with life like tigers in their prime,

So pure, intending to be immaculate and sublime,

Until gravity grounds us in a trap not worth a dime!

We start giving names to everything based on our conditioning,

While the wise ones realise that everything is one through rationalising,

But dogma is a monster that takes over our brains,

Nd all we see are divides, discrimination and our Creator disdains!

That was not the plan for not all five fingers are the same,

It is in variety that there’s spice in a game,

To elevate and rise above was the game plan,

Instead, we capitalised on our weaknesses into domination, Oh Man!

Since then, only wars, debates and slaughter reigned,

Our Mother watched aghast and was pained,

Over and over again She saw Her children turning into enemies,

What ever happened to love, peace and harmony for eternity,

What ever became of that dream called “Unity in Diversity “?!
