Bearing majestic plumes red blue orange green

At heart singers – insects, birds chirp melodies evergreen

 

Soft fur, sharp quill, slithery skin, creatures in stunning mane

Amphibian, mammal, "carni-herbi-omni”-vores;   ALL use brain

 

Blossoms bloom multihued spanning sizzle of seasons

Small, tiny, wild, fragranced spread joys for no reason

 

Snow peaks melt, waterfalls tinkle, ponds pool

Flow to ocean across terra sweltering, cracked, cool

 

Flora fauna verdant in valleys, mountains, green-lands

Gift shade, home, sustenance, wood, to human hands

 

Stars, planets, meteors, gather in sparkling firmament

Sky’s grand display parades unmatched unified sentiment

 

Dawn, day, noon, evening, dusk and darkest night

Trail one another, making earth-clock tock-tick right

 

Skin, garb, food, habits, cultures, geo settings, concerns vary

Emotions, aspirations, feelings, ride same rollercoaster merry

 

Eye may discern, judgements discriminate, views incriminate

Riotous heartbeats perceive same ~ greed, hatred, and love intimate

 

Borderless

 

Behind closed doors of a home

It’s free for unique thoughts to roam

practice religion one has known

eat, dress, speak as one has grown

 

Diverse are ways to express

long as don't cause hurtful stress

to communities easy to impress

as divisive elements aim to impress

 

Daycare, Kindergarten, school diversity

propound acceptance, overall inclusivity

colleges, think tanks, workplace proclivity

intent excludes discriminating exclusivity

 

Rearing heads are alarming sound bytes

on esteemed platforms weaken bonds tights

misinterpret to twist individual rights

incite groups to attack within, infight

 

Word, acts, deeds of "Unity in diversity"

is promised way to win as a community

to strengthen citizens across nationality

by embracing borderless universality

RUPA RAO holds an MBA and a Law degree.  She enjoys writing, yoga and nature walks. She is admin at "LWG" and Chief Coordinator for IAE.
