We may look different in our appearance

We may look different in our attires

We may look different in our worshipping

We may look different in our speaking

 

However, our spirit of Nation is one

Our Constitution is equal for all

We are like flowers of a bouquet

Our colour and fragrance are different

But we are bound all together

Our pride and sufferings are similar

 

India has been a multiracial nation

India has been the destination of all travellers

India is a country where life is a celebration

We have been lived here for generation to generation

 

India has been a country of various religions

Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christen, Buddhist and Jain

All celebrate together _Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat_

We respect the moral teachings of all

India knows, 'United We Stand, Divided We Fall'

 

India is a socialist and democratic country

We love to harvest our farms altogether

We participate in the folk songs during harvesting

We love to play and sing together in the community song

We don't see, in doing these, anything wrong

 

There are many states of their own ethnic identity

We very open heartedly accept the diversity

There may be possibly rich or poor state

But our Union Government does not discriminate

If any disaster breaks, we stand together as a iron Gate

 

We look diverse, however, we work as a one nation

We decide what unanimously, who will run the nation

PERWAIZ SHAHARYAR

 

Dr. PERWAIZ SHAHARYAR is a famous short story writer, poet and critic from India. He is Graduate with English Honors from Ranchi University. He has topped Jawaharlal Nehru University in Masters with Literature. He was awarded Doctor of Philosophy for his Research Work from University of Delhi. He is Diploma holder in Calligraphy, Mass Media and in Book Publishing with Specialization in Editing. He is a Member of Advisory Board of National Book Trust India. He has been Jury Member of Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. He is presently Member of Management Committee for Skill Development of Teachers, Jamia Millia Islamia JMI New Delhi. He has written approx. 150 English poems, around 50 short stories, and more than 160 poems in Urdu. He has 20 published books including 3 anthologies of poems, 3 collections of short stories, 4 books of research and criticism and 12 books of translation including 8 books of Children’s stories. His anthology, He has bagged many awards and accolades from national and international literary and cultural organisations. His poems have translated into Spanish, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Albania, Bengali and Hindi. The Burning Boat Is likely to be published soon.
