Saint George

Protector of the Christians and the army,

Come from Heaven

In golden armor ridding on the horse as white as snow

And get us out of the belly of the fire breathing dragon,

The fallen angels’ favorite pet and inhabitant of hell.

Oh holy knight, we offer you this prayer

To light our way to God

And teach us about the seven virtues

That were your shield when the barbarians tortured you.

Inspire us to have a lion heart

And cleanse ourselves of sins through faith.

Rainy Night

Standing alone in his cottage

With a cup of tea

He stared at the window

Looking at the pouring rain in the gloomy night.

"Are they dancing drops of water,

Or are they Virgin Mary's tears

Falling from the sky?" he asked himself.

A small rock looked at him from outside the windowsill

"Could it be a normal rock,

A piece of coal

Or someone's heart of stone left behind?"

The man reminiscent happy memories

In the rainy night.

Flowers’ Sunday

(Palm Sunday)

The sky is clear,

Everything is beautifully set

And bathed in the rays of the great celestial body.

The birds are singing,

It seems that nature is livelier than ever before.

Enthusiasm, piety and joy are in the air.

There is a crowd on the right and left side

Of the path toward the Holy City

Holding either olive or willow branches in their hands.

“Who is the long awaited guest that everyone expects?”

We would ask ourselves.

Somewhere from the distance,

A kind man pure inside and out

Approaches riding a donkey.

It’s Jesus Christ, the Son of God

Who will suffer and will be subdued to great pain

By those who welcome him now with open arms.

Life after death He will prove that it exists

After resurrecting in the third day according to the Scriptures.
