I DID NOT ASK TO WRITE

I did not ask to write
The lines just kept on coming
From the land, the sea and greens
The trees were softly swaying
In whispers they kept sighing
The flowers were agonizing
The clouds once started pouring
A storm of salty blood
The Earth at once was crawling
In torment, she was screaming
And I was just appeasing
To give a voice to all
The silence I was hearing
The saddest tale of all
And when they started writing
In rhymes and songs repeating
In breaking showers of thunder
In trickling streams of sorrow
The winds of terror were stripping
The limbs were steady seeping
I did not ask to write
My heart just kept on ticking
And I alone was thinking
How could I appease them?
In World that cares for none
Their cries I heard so often
Their pleas were steady stirring
And I was busy strewing
A plea to save them all

THE FEEL OF COTTON

In the air, the scent  of  Cotton
So crisp and beautiful
The flowers are Yellow Sunshine
Their movement ever graceful
Like wings of Butterflies
In the breeze they wave
So   slightly
To greet
The light of dawn
At night the flowers are closing
To end the dying day
My memories   are always reaping
In   fields  of Lime and  Green.

COWARDS AND HEROES

The noise outside my door
Rumbling, shouting
People running, crying and hiding
I quickly cut the lights
So I couldn’t see them
So they couldn’t see me
Cupped my hands over my ears
So I could not hear them
I was dumfounded and afraid
I wanted no involvement
What could I do?
I locked  the doors
Avoided the pain
Evaded the struggle
I went to bed
Shutting out the light
Each day, I stayed
Less and less the light
Less and less the sounds
Until one day
I could not see
Or feel anything
It is said that cowards
Die a million deaths
In their fears
Heroes die but once
While regrets haunt an Eternity
