LEYLA IŞIK

LEYLA IŞIK

OH MY FACE . . .

You are where my shadow gone blind has left you off.
It is useless, even if my image, which behind the mirror
Has got undressed into its tain,
Takes its real face off and turns inside out!
I have broken and spent my eyes.
My tears pregnant with darkness,
You are the aged wine hoping for candle light’s help
In the bottle of time.
Oh my face . . .

AH YÜZÜM…

Kör olmuş gölgemin bıraktığı yerdesin.
Aynanın arkasında sırına soyunmuş suretim,
Aslından çıkarıp yüzümü,
Tersyüz etse de faydasız!
Bozdurup harcadım gözlerimi.
Karanlığa gebe gözyaşım,
Mum ışığından medet uman,
Zamanın şişesinde yıllanmış şarapsın.
Ah yüzüm…

WHENEVER I GET LOST
IN THE MOMENTS WITH YOU. . .

Whenever I get lost in the moments with you. . .
The sky darkens, and the cloudsget flurried
And unload their burdens of rain.
Inthe sea of being without youIburry myself in the deep waters.

Whenever I get lost in the moments with you. . .
One side of me becomes you, and I have no other side.
My legends remain in a love story among the books
Whose pages have been worn out.

Whenever I get lost in the moments with you. . .
I lower my head, and my shoulders collapse.
I fall apart otel.

And I become a bird circling in despair
Without branches and a nest to settle on.

Whenever I get lost in the moments with you. . .
Icomplete whatever is half-finished,
And setall times up for us,
And thenmix with thebeats of your heart
Inseparably, like clock hands.

YESTERDAY  I  AGAİN

Yesterday I again
Thought of you,
I took those best moments out of time
And could not ignore the lost ones.
It was the fog of the longings inside of me that fell on the windows.
It was not only my arm that extends after you, but also my heart,
I could not say, "Don't go, stay!"

*

Yesterday I again
Thought of you,
a brush in my hand, first I drew you on the walls,
the colors with which I will fill your image revolted, my face disappeared
in the strength of black.
The rains of the sky lined up on the tipsof my eyelashes.

*

Yesterday I again
Thought of you,
My hands were tied up with your absence, your presence was
astraight razorthere and then,
I would have been untied,if you had touched me.
