Desire For Faith
And I will look for you
where the path ends,
where the white peaks
caress the sky
and the scattered clouds
dance lightly in the shelter of the sun.
Where the calm, solemn air
breathes a pungent scent of incense
and scatters pungent flowers.
Among the ancient stones,
where the water runs towards the valley
in a happy song.
I will see you in the eyes of the fawn,
that unaware, lovingly,
looks at the one who
will mercilessly open
its little belly.
In the cities devastated
by the fire of violence and hunger,
where among the ruins a subdued cry rises
that smells of waiting, hope, love.
And I will hear your voice
in the wind that brushes my hair
and whispers in my tired ear
eternal words.
Joycean Epiphanies
Sensations,
expressions of moments of happiness,
captured and magically immortalized,
crystallized on sheets of paper.
Memories of happy moments
destined to be covered by the dust of time.
A flash,
you grab them, you observe them.
Dazzling revelations,
sudden awareness.
Time quickly retreats
flowing the river of memories.
Short, intense moments
of happiness mixed with pain,
anguish.
A sense of suffocation,
tears that appear
and that you can barely hold back.
You put away your treasures,
you push your thoughts away
and breathe a sigh of relief
while waiting for a new “epiphany”.
Beyond The Finite World
Images float
in the individual and remote room of the mind,
finite, concrete realities hover among images
of dreams of the unfinished.
And the gap between dream and reality
becomes thinner.
I glimpse the horizon beyond which
stretches the infinite world
of a reality unknown to the eyes,
but strongly present
in the depths of the heart,
in the conscience of each and every one.
Arcane fears and universal hopes appear,
mixed with desires for knowledge
of the unexplored,
before the appointed time.
A desire to break
that unknown wall,
to sail on light and fast ships,
beyond the human horizon
towards the eternal infinite,
with the certainty of returning
to this unparalleled, tormenting,
but still beloved existence.
