ŞENOL ALÇINKAYA

A Stray Stone In The Sea Foam

I am like a stray stone in the sea foam,

Wherever the waves take me,

I will roam.

Whose hearts will I bounce on again?

I do not know, I do not know.

Maybe in a seaside town,

I will play with the children's toys.

Or maybe in a big city,

I will be crushed under people's feet.

Or maybe, just maybe,

I will stand in a museum's vitrine,

An immortal statue.

Who knows, who knows?

I will wake up with the morning sun's rays,

I will rest under the evening stars.

And always, I will be a stray stone in the sea foam.

If I Were Rain

If I were rain, I would fall on your hair,

I would be the drops that slide down.

With each touch on your skin,

My absence would remind you of my presence.

Every time I think of you,

You would count the falling rain as my tears.

I would roar as thunder, saying "I'm here!".

If I were rain, I would be life from distant lands,

My falling drops touching you.

With each drop falling to the ground,

I would become steam,

And rain again, anew.

I would shake you, so you wouldn't forget me, my love
