ANIK SAMANTA
BLOOD WINE
A heart overgrown with nettles
Shall catch fire
When you weep wine
The night is a mirror is a mouth
It speaks to the bones
The maze shall have overflown
With the tides of memory
Blood shall blossom
In syllables of wine-dark autumn
LOVE
My mouth adrift
In your ocean hair
My kisses burning
Like so many drowned stars
My eyes buried
In the blue of tidal love
My hands lost
In the dark night of your body
Poised beyond the meridian
Of despair and hope
SLEEP WORDS
Phosphorescence
Of sleep words
Keeps vigil in the night heart
The mirror disgorges unshriven
Light
Auroras of adolescence
Ageless
Overgo the green of spring
The grey of autumn
Bone dreams beat time
To the blood moon
Overgrown with word moss
