I RISE IN LOVE

I can hear my soul talking to me,

Asking me to be patient,

Pleading me to be calm,

Life teaches new lessons,

Can't be complacent.

A beautiful song plays within,

I'm on a journey unknown,

Yesterday was the end ,

Today I begin again

Looking for a land of my own.

I'll be what I want to be,

No battles are to be won,

If you can hear the same song

Come, light the fire for us to burn.

I can hear my soul talking to me,

Asking me to be in control,

My laughter is my sunshine,

I rise in love so divine.

My wings I spread to touch the sky,

Let faith stand alone,

Yesterday was the end ,

Today I begin again

To meet Life on the other side of the comfort zone.

CAN YOU MEET ME HALFWAY?

You are so far away,

Yet so close,

You hide in my thoughts,

Your smile my daily dose.

Spring has come to my garden,

Flowers are blooming everywhere,

You may be far away,

I sense your fragrance in the air.

Come, wipe my tears,

I give you the key,

Open my heart

Fill it up with new hopes and dreams.

You are so far away,

And I still pray,

You be in the sun, I'll be in the rain,

This love is here to stay.

I'll cross the oceans of love,

Let the stars guide me at night,

Can you meet me halfway?

Here the world belongs to you and I,

We can stop by to create our own paradise.

NANDINI MITRA: Nandini has done her master's in English literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She is a teacher by profession. Being a trained classical singer her love for music never took a back seat. Then in 2011 poetry happened and since then there was no looking back.
