RANJANA
SHARAN SINHA
Ghazal-1
Drinking
from the goblet of memories all night,
I was
awake-- rings of echoes binary-- all night.
In the
sky the dim crescent moon knew that it'd die,
Hunted by
clouds, it cried amid emery all night.
I thought
about the mire of the moonless night,
Like
dying moon, I was in misery all night.
Somewhere
in silent darkness hung a faint thin hope,
Butterfly
wings remained fluttery all night.
Some
coral poppies floated like waves in shadow,
Aromas,
Ranjana, a mystery all night!
Ghazal-2
Ribboned
and cellophaned, she stayed under her sky-- I remember often enough;
I recall
those pretty stars-- bright balls of crystal chandeliar often enough!
She woke
up with the aroma of tea in a bone china pot with light pink roses;
Kashmiri
chain stitches on the white tea cozy-- I recall the colour often enough!
Falling
rain-- the soft, sodden whispers of shower-- pitter...patter...pitter-patter;
Drops
seeping in through hairlines-- the rose and the rain-- flashes appear often
enough!
Tear-
like broken rain became quite beautiful creating a brand-new pluviophile;
Fragments
melted into fragrance in a sweet-sad moment-- a rare treasure often enough!
Leaves--
lava red and burnishing brown-- fell on her autumnal heart with swishing sound;
The
breaths of wilted flowers pervaded the air in a linger often enough!
The
drizzle and the silent serenade, the psithurusm of the leaves in the breeze;
The
sunset sky and shadows amid petrichor--create wonder often enough!
Amid the
stillness of air faded the glimmering landscape-- realms of gold vanished;
The sky
with dark bruises told stories-- dreams and slumber, Ranjana,often enough!
Ghazal-3
Pains
buried like dead leaves in the soil of heart become moist and germinate, I feel
sometimes:
A rain of
tears-- porcelain drops fragile with memories innate-- I feel sometimes.
A surreal
moon on a dark canvas, with the fact and fantasy, seems to weep;
A wistful
mind, waxing and waning, finds an algorithm novate, I feel sometimes.
Dry and
dewless faces of years amid cracked walls with regrets hanging like old coats--
A sad
prism with secret sorrows into spectrum infinite, I feel sometimes.
The
mysterious ambiguity of the smoking blueness puzzles my soul;
Like a
fish swimming in the ocean of emotions intricate, I feel sometimes.
When
sadness melts, I love the tranquil solitude-- better days of my breathing life;
The air,
Ranjana, with the sound of sweet birdsong resonate, I feel sometimes.
