GEORGIANA L. GHEORGHE

GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE

What Does The World Needs?

Ethics to help the people tell right from wrong,

Safety for our children to grow into creative independent

Adults that will respect nature, history, art and culture.

A set of true values to represent the good examples

That will inspire everyone to make themselves heard,

Live every moment of their lives

Without letting themselves be manipulated by others,

Discover themselves, unearth their talents and develop them,

Set real life goals and achieve them.

Genuine love to destroy hate,

A reminder of the past mistakes

For the present people to not repeat them in the future.

Joy to keep sadness away,

A chance for everyone to earn a decent salary

And for the truth to prevail.

Summer

As busy as a bee, as holy as a deity

The sun is staring at this beauty.

Playfully swims in the crystal waters of the lake

After a hard day’s work on the field with the farmer.

Dances the hora with boys and girls,

But the hot weather is despised by dogs.

Sees the old woman chasing after the rascal

That stole cherries from her orchard throughout the village.

Wears the flower crown with pride,

Presents herself every year as a wonderful sight,

When angered she turns into a terrible drought

Whose suffering can be felt in every corner of nature’s realm.

Is watching over her mischievous daughter

That is now protected even by Zeus’ brother.

No matter what name she bears

She is worshiped everywhere.

July

The second month of Queen Summer

Warms the world like in an “Oven”,

But it can’t stop the diligent peasants

From working on the field along with the Sânziene.

The sky cries bitterly,

Electric ribbons of light pierce through the clouds

Sounds of cannons echo in the distance

Announcing Saint Elijah/ Elias’ arrival.

Ana Foca (Ana Phocas), Ilie Pălie (Elijah Blaze), Saint Pantaleon

And Saint Phocas, Bishop of Sinope are joining him.

It tests us through fire and storms,

Brothers Cosmas and Damian show themselves to those pure of heart

Keeping illnesses away.
