Creeping Darkness
The creeping
darkness
is trying to
take me
turn the light
into blackness
it comes in a
fancy dress
a disguised
banshee
The creeping
darkness
the feeling of
hopeless
is all I
currently see
turn the light
into blackness
feel nothing but
tense stress
that spreads
carefree
The creeping
darkness
the wand of an
evil sorceress
laughs with glee
turn the light
into blackness
pray for
tenderness
in a safe
sanctuary
The creeping
darkness
turn the light
into blackness

Watching
Never had the
feeling of uselessness
as I do now.
Sitting and
watching it all happen.
It never helps
seeing
the person I
know changing.
I get flashes of
memory
of the man I
grew up knowing.
Fearless, humble
and stubborn.
As a person, he
helped you.
You did not help
him.
He had many
stories to tell
from his
earliest adventure to now
with such detail
you would think
you were there.
All of this
makes what I am watching difficult.
What age does
very quickly
while believing
and not believing
at the same
time.
Watching this
now, helpless
as others try to
care for him.
Changing gauges,
clothes, bathing him
as he tries to
remember why.
Brings
frustrated tears.
I understand
father time
does come for us
all
but I am not
ready
for the slow
decline.
Wish for what
used to be.
Do not feel all
the changes
then they
overwhelm me.
The body changes
I know
are happening to
me
as I watch
myself self closer.

Lying Eyes
Take a look into
my eyes
to you, find a
better buyer
As I can see
your lies
you believe no
one sees the disguise
however, you
feel like a town crier
Take a look into
my eyes
the truth is
what you fantasize
words are truth
to a liar
As I can see
your lies
in the mirror,
you may realize
that for
everything, there is not a buyer
Take a look into
my eyes
you feel there
is no demise
there is always
an identifier
As I can see
your lies
the righteous of
you gives butterflies
keep your own
whisper
Take a look into
my eyes
As I can see
your lies
