I Am A Particle

 

I am not the July sun that burns upon the crowd,

Nor one who, in the morning, measures up to his shadow,

I am not even the crested bird, full of noise too loud,

That sings and says that spring will come from him.

 

I am a particle on my tiny Earth that, restless, spins,

A speck of dust that dances in the infinite galaxy,

Where dark and silent, the cosmic giant begins,

And measures greatness in its domain, counting me.

 

Thus, as a speck, I can see the space as limitless,

And feel life with a broader breath always,

The cage of ego would have narrowed my lungs,

Perhaps slowly, it would have consumed me whole.

 

I am a humble stone in the flow of a stream,

A pleasure for a human who wants to see me,

The stream polishes me with the water’s gleam,

And teaches me from the currents of humility.

 

My smallness sees all the infinity around,

Like a single, quiet note that gathers all the chords.

 

Mother  

 

In the dizziness of time, voices fade,  

Under the circle of love, a divided life,  

Mother, your figure—a broken mosaic,  

Pain of memories, with white light.  

 

Your sacrifices, like a hidden flame,  

A strong desire, a high mountain,  

But in the moment of loss, cloud upon cloud,  

Nothing remains except the golden shadow.  

 

Now I see myself, a reflection,  

A light that ignites, but a shadow again,  

I am no longer a child, but a melting soul,  

In fragments of life where I lose and find.  

 

Mother, you have gone, but you are always near,  

In heartbeats, breaths of dreams,  

The love you left, the love you took,  

The disfigured symphony, which I will never forget.

KUJTIM HAJDARI is an Albanian poet, writer, translator, publisher, literary critic, and promoter. He writes in Albanian, Italian, and, more recently, in English. He now lives in the USA. He is a finalist for "AUTHOR OF THE YEAR 2025" in Hollywood, USA, with his poetry book "Through the Waves of Life.” The event's ceremony took place on October 4, 2025, at the Hollywood Salon in California, USA. This marks his second major award, following his win of the "International Impact Book Awards" in August 2024. To date, he has published 18 poetry collections, three novellas, three novels, and translated numerous volumes. He has participated in over 50 national and international competitions, earning many awards, including cups, diplomas, certificates, and more. He has been featured in over 230 national and international anthologies in three languages: Albanian, Italian, and English. His poetry has been translated and published in more than 25 countries. He is also the publisher of the anthology” All Together” on Amazon, which showcases creators from around the world.
