The Only Rose
Although
different blood runs through the veins,
yet better even
than kinship,
Friendship is
our Alter Ego.
Made of
materials
that withstand
time.
Affection at
first sight.
A reciprocal
sharing—giving.
Happiness in
success,
refuge in
hardship.
Small in number
Discreet
A good listener
of troubles.
A personal bond,
far from
impersonal “followers”
and lifeless
“likes.”
Friendship is
giving,
selfless.
The only rose
without thorns.
