CHRISTOS CHARAKOPOULOS

The Only Rose

Although different blood runs through the veins,

yet better even than kinship,

Friendship is our Alter Ego.

Made of materials

that withstand time.

Affection at first sight.

A reciprocal sharing—giving.

Happiness in success,

refuge in hardship.

Small in number

Discreet

A good listener of troubles.

A personal bond,

far from impersonal “followers”

and lifeless “likes.”

Friendship is giving,

selfless.

The only rose without thorns.
