Celebrating Friendship
Eight years of
friendship to celebrate
Party evening
plenty of wine,
food is fine
but nobody wants
to eat.
Music blaring,
karaoke in
store,
men gulping down
the drinks,
while the women
sip on wine,
cracking jokes
and laughing aloud,
the men get up
to sing.
The dancing
begins,
couples get on
the floor
children
enjoying,
screaming and
shouting,
around a little
puppy
that steals the
limelight.
It is late in
the night
nearing morning,
the show must
end
the hall is in a
mess,
a broken chair,
scraps of food,
drinks spilled,
the host
as they raised
the toast
to eight years
of friendship
and welcomed new
friends on their list.
Came to an end
with a lot of
fun
bye's and
wishing each other
more years of
fun and friendship.
Were They Friends?
We are friends
forever they said,
they met every
day and chatted every day,
they went out on
their outings together,
at work they sat
close by
and during lunch
they would eat together,
they would share
all their problems
and would
resolve it.
Then one day one
of them lost her job,
she was left
out,
she was lonely,
and was longing
for her friends to pass by
to talk to her,
to ask about
her,
but they never
did,
they were too
busy with their lives
she was hurt,
she missed them
and the times they had spent together
where are they
she thought,
how could they
forget her so easily,
alas were these
friends of once upon a time?
