In The Eyes Of A Friend
I have developed
many friends over the years,
friends from my
childhood,
friends from
work, friends from church,
friends from
volunteering organizations.
I may not be
friends with everyone in the world
not having met
each and every living person,
but I know I do
not wish to have any enemies,
for it is
something that I am not in search of,
and once I have
developed a friendship,
I do not want it
to ever go away.
Maybe we don’t
see each other every day,
or talk to each
other on the phone each day,
but I will be
there whenever you need me.
I will always be
ready, so just give me a call.
I am a friend
for life, something that
has always been
one of my long-term goals.
I may not know
everything about you,
like you do not
know everything about me,
for we all have
a few secrets that we choose not to disclose,
but as friends,
I know we like sharing a few beers,
listening to the
same music,
laughing at each
other’s jokes,
and one more
thing we have in common,
continuing our
friendship rather than ending it,
so let’s get
together again and celebrate our friendship.
You Will Always Be Surrounded
By True Friends.
Was it really
true, friends
that wouldn’t
ask me for money,
or friends that
would honor
all my requests
for money?
Stand with me.
I am not
requesting anything from you
other than being
there when I need you
to keep me
company,
drinking a few
beers together,
having a few
laughs.
Stay true, and
we will be around
each other for
years to come.
True friends,
you and me,
little else is
needed.
