Friends
When the country
air is cloyed
With the aroma
of sweet spring
We rush out from
homes to run
Along winding
paths and swing
From branches of
trees standing
Along the rim of
the village pond
One by one we
fall into the water
Splashing the
path and far beyond
We shout, we
dance and we sing
And tease the
lasses’ taking baths
We hide under
the water as old
men look at us
in untamed wrath
Sans worries
life was passing as
Smoothly as
spring's soothing air
Friends with
innocent hearts the
Country side
seemed having a fair
We are all old
now and counting
Our breaths flow
so thin and weak
Memories of
young days linger in
Our minds and we
can hardly speak
O My Friend!!
You make me glow
like the sun
When we meet in
the day just for a while
We explore dales
and ravines and rivers
And forests and
walk for miles and miles
The sky seems
not too far to catch
When we climb up
the mountain’s slopes
Life is a
blessing to be with you my friend
When we talk
sitting among dancing crops
Someday in the
hushed air of dawn
Life will fade
away like the morning star
Our souls will
merge together like shadows
From each other
we won't ever remain too far
