Evening Walk

 

From the mysterious gaze of the nipples

of the crisp black grapes,

of silhouettes of bygone poplar trees,

like sentinels along the road,

don't be afraid!

 

From the nightingale's tall words,

from the sensual voice of a tawny owl,

from the fragile litter of grasses,

with the sharpened shadows of the reeds,

don't be afraid!

 

They are my friends. And my home.

Nature is my kingdom under the heavens.

The priests bless her with peace.

Poets chant it. And singers.

And God creates it with His heart.

Lyrical Leaf

 

I write letters on cherry petals -

a wind carries them.

I recreate verses in my mind.

Whirlwinds lift them up to the sky-high

to the astral

with the whisper of the leaves.

 

We are in the chorus of art!

We feel the whole world as a homeland.

We have lived in the times.

Our dream is to be brothers with people,

with the animals - friends

and may harmony flourish on Earth!

STOIANKA BOIANOVA, (Bulgaria) Physicist. Included in Know Her Words, PEN International Women Writers Committee Initiative to celebrate the best women's writing from around the world. She is the author of eleven books in the genres of poetry and fiction in Bulgaria. Co-author with Minko Tanev (her husband and partner in literature) of four bilingual books in English and Bulgarian published upon the invitation of Cyberwit.net, India and a book of poetry from Independently published, India.
