MAKING MUSIC

Music is the breath of life for the romantic
pianos
playing
all genres in concert is sweetly fantastic
strumming
guitars
with soft melodies may seem sour or tragic
thunder
lightning
make loud sounds, nature's music is startling, frantic
working
playing
together is music of a different tactic
developing
being
creative is a form of music, more manic
teaming
together
is a music made for being more bombastic
comedies
tragedies
bring bittersweet times that turn to the pedantic
skating
performing
for friends is a form of music, showing poise
reading
stories
shows new ways for music that the mind employs
sporting
events
bring cheerleaders and support music for the boys
marching
trumpeters
trombones and tubas with a kind of counterpoise
radios
bestow
music on the ears while driving, spiritual joys
television
concerts
reward the watcher, listener with sweeter convoys
listening
taking
in the sounds of the forest, those that annoys
walking
strolling
hand in hand with a girl, the time that one enjoys
humming
singles
heard on the radio, ones that stick in your head
chanting
tuning
into the cosmos, meditating a bridgehead
sailing
soaring
in the clouds high above, music by dragonhead
dances
circles
of love cause ambitions to rise, music well fed
lyrics
written
by artists create impressions, by seeing red
producing
seducing
the minds of musicians, a transcending godhead
jamming
instrumentalists
keep a rhythm in the mind, music is not read
rocking
robins
sing a song of love, their music being purebred
albums
recorded
by an engineer, mastered music is flowing
schooldays
daydreaming
comes without warning, the music speaks to roaming
operas
symphonies
give music precise story telling, foreboding
choral
orchestral
performances enhance each show, candy coating
mellifluous
sounding
performances are music to the ears, floating
sonic
vibrations
are nature's music, the Universe is humming
making
whoopee
is music for lovers, heart strings always drumming
living
loving
each other, the music of all life is crowing.

MUSING AND INCENSE

Meditation gives us a sense of peace of mind
taming
mental
anguish with appeasement of the soul when maligned
soothing
senses
till peaceful feelings overcome what we opined
relaxing
taking
time to yourself, to become cosmically aligned
waiting
holding
back ill feelings, praying to the sky as inclined
reaching
stretching
the mind to capture the clouds, dragons are defined
floating
above
the horizon like a butterfly, unconfined
daydreaming
pretending
you are a fly on the wall, as the mastermind
thinking
about
life and love, the mind lost in its pure fantasy
contemplating
inner
depths of the soul, finding your creativity
imagining
searching
for new horizons, focusing on comedy
living
dying
in stages of the mind, creating tragedy
absorbing
ideas
from the subconscious, like a social rhapsody
reflecting
revisiting
times of your childhood, searching for vivacity
fantasizing
marveling
at what life has dealt you, finding insanity
debating
yourself
to find an answer of a profound gravity
dissecting
extolling
the virtues of incense, mulling over airspace
lamenting
better
times when love was all there was, arsenic to brace
mocking
shocking
close friends with nonsense names and getting in their face
posing
questions
to have fun, relaxing with chips to interface
worrying
bewailing
behaviors out of norms, laughing, finding your place
blocking
evil
thoughts from the conscious self, from porn in cyberspace
trusting
selflessness
comes to those with sensitivity teaching grace
delusions
savoring
love from the heart and soul, coming from inner space
inviting
embracing
contact with sprites, yoga relaxes the muscles
spirits
transcending
the soul, love consciousness becomes like wild chuckles
mysticism
stillness
in the heart touches the soul, ending all squabbles
laughter
belly
laughs are good for the soul, ending thoughts of troubles
protesting
politics
of exclusion, wars, personality doubles
solitude
silent
time is good for meditation, as well as puzzles
sudden
enlightenment
comes like a lightning strike, minds turn into ruffles
making
whoopee
breaks the silence, becomes full of tiny bubbles.

TOLERANCE AND LOVE

Growing up is about gaining real maturity
standing
leaning
on mom and dad to gain independence, unity
learning
taking
lessons from nature, finding a real security
following
adults
to gain understanding, from our immaturity
playing
pretending
to be some famous actor, with sensitivity
allowing
differences
to come into play, foregoing its obscurity
resisting
irritations
to heart and soul, letting go of your hostility
inclusion
margins
of tolerance given way to your transparency
being
generous
with your affections, because of an awful nightmare
cosmic
connections
make us all brothers, sisters, a humble good to share
meadows
extending
to the horizon, with green grass growing everywhere
mountains
rising
up into the clouds, dragons bring peace, so unaware
seasons
reasons
do not matter, love grows like irrational welfare
indulgence
acceptance
of conditions on a relationship, to beware
civility
rationality
given to building trust, 'fore a romantic affair
working
saving
on a budget to gain rewards for a loving sphere
diversity
cooperating
with friends and family, to avoid a proxy fight
lifting
spirits
of those around you, a true synergy to invite
suffering
sacrificing
time and patience for someone else's complete delight
leveling
restraining
the temper to show compassion, no bent to excite
condoning
deviations
to the norm, to avoid what is a presumptive right
resisting
opinions
that interfere with civil rights, that are held too tight
enduring
limits
on your time, knowing love has a hardy appetite
sensitive
instincts
put to use, to overcome time placed in the limelight
showing
lenience
to family and friends, with anyone in your life's flow
forgiveness
giving
back as you get older, showing love has a warm glow
humility
solidarity
when it counts, lighting candles to reach a new plateau
permitting
louder
speaking to overcome background noise, ears feel the woe
amity
friendliness
offer new friends a path to show their way, going slow
acting
tolerant
to those in close proximity, with love to bestow
moral
convictions
relate to nature's way, lessons learned will always grow
values
developed
to gain wisdom over time, finding your afterglow.

PATRICK MICHAEL

PATRICK MICHAEL: I am a male, 72 years old, born July 19, 1944 in Bluffton, IN with extensive background in many areas, and, until very recently had not planned to publish except for my family and close friends who love my poetry. With the coming of age of self publishing, I now plan to spread my words as far as possible. I was born and raised in small towns in North Central Indiana, attending schools in Marion, Summitville and Huntington Indiana through grade 11. I graduated from Brentwood High School in Brentwood, MO in St. Louis County, but claim both it and Huntington High School, as my alma maters with the Class of 1962. I come from a family of very warm and talented people and learned many of my skills from my dearly, departed Mother. She was an extremely talented woman with the voice of an angel, a coloratura soprano, as well as being a superb pianist with concert quality skills. I am a 100% Disabled Vietnam Vet and I have a lifelong disease, Multiple Sclerosis, which I have dealt with and you would never know I have it when looking at me today. I overcame it's grip on my life in late 1994, suffer few side affects now and take no medication for it. I first noticed my health issues associated with it at age 15, but was not diagnosed till 1981. It stopped me from finishing my higher education in 1973, causing me concentration problems. I kept learning by other means throughout my life, which in time will be apparent if you read enough of my poetry. During my working years I was always working with my mind and hands to be creative, studied medical science for my families benefits as well as my own, religions and spirituality as well as the social and physical sciences, with particular emphasis on relationships and gender differences. I worked for the Defense Department in the mapping and charting field and for the CIA near the end of my career. I have lived in many places since my divorce in 2004. Among them Orlando, FL, San Jose, CA, Bellingham, WA and now, since 2008 in Shoreline, WA.
