FRANCESCO FAVETTA

To My Father!

Father your face

Your Life

and your hardened hands

sweat in the forehead

dignity dressed in the days

your wrinkles on the skin

wise and ancient furrows

of memories never dormant

inside your man's shell.

Father my thoughts

my words always with you

love in the eyes

your gray ways

tired footsteps

feelings never violated

suddenly pouring honey

in the silence of your thoughts

in a never empty mouth.

Father will not be the time

and not even the distance

to tear away the memories

from my heart

not even the life already lived

we will still be united Father

from the love of our history

and every Faith will be wealth

of our faithful dreams.

The Anger Rises In The Words

There is no one here anymore

even the stones are dead

the shadow of fate

it has become condemnation

humanity fallen into the field

in the flames of war.

Beyond the border between the hills

breathe into the clouds

they disappear in the cities

bloody red with blood

trails of pain and wounds in the heart

they soak the screaming earth.

Walls fall and then ramparts

anger rises in words

who tell the truths left

still locked in the dark

hearts of stone and red eyes

merciless kill human lives.
