Where We Go

 

right in the middle of where we go

there are the traces from the voice of past

the veil of sin of the way we come to earth

is arm in arm with voices

your strokes

smells Indian

smells sleep and death

i am the spots of ladybugs

with lax voices

the salt

of the tears of crocodiles

the Indian, sleep, and death are

right in the middle of where we go

Underwater

 

it’s for love to fathom water

on the trail of melting ices

without seeing the sky

to get warm

and drown

in colors wet and cold

to dive in breaths

it’s odd

you brought spring by one flower

from nine heavens away

the castle of cards

bathed in milk for Shahmaran

magical became

the time slithering and deceived

the land of tales

took shelter in memories

to get refreshed with broomsticks

Dr. EMEL KOŞAR was born in Eskişehir. In 2003, she graduated from Turkish Language and Literature Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. She is currently a faculty member at Turkish Language and Literature Department of Faculty of the Arts and Sciences of Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. She has published her poetry and essays on Turkish literature in various literary magazines. She published her research and review books, scientific and literary works she edited, and 8 poetry collections. I give permission my poems (“WHERE WE GO”, “UNDERWATER”, “WITH MAGIC”) to be published in OPA Anthology of Poetry 2024.
