CHRISTOS DIKBASANIS

A Simple Journey To The Universe

A simple journey to infinity

without noise, without farewells,

a distant death with an expiration date

The dust of space wraps us like a luminous veil,

like a welcome to absolute solitude

Endless sand, shining without prying questions

for our dreams and desires

I compare it to myself, to my companions

In front of it we seem insignificant, helpless dots,

a blurred parenthesis in the evolution of the Universe

that plunges us ever more into the indifferent abyss

But who counts our temporary death?

Who writes memorial speeches for us daring star travelers

and then reads them in a voice hoarse with emotion

in front of the interstellar void?

Who understands the weight of our responsibilities to humanity?

Who will keep us in their weak memory?

We flew towards the light

and now our wings are constantly burning

but we do not interrupt our eternal journey

towards the Unquenchable Truth

of the mysteries of life,

of existence, of creation, of our whole self

The Republic Ways Of The Gods

I will walk the paths

of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva

but also of Ganesha, Lahmi, Hanuman

Rama, the beautiful Saraswati

the two-faced Kali

the sovereign

of life and death

vigilant, fearless, dreamer

I will sell my days

to the millions of gods

who dwell in the sacred body

of the peaceful cows

I will buy by cash

the dangerous dive in the shelters

of my republic life

I will free from foreign dominions

and advises

I will call my name to be heard

to the ends of the worlds

I will cry out at the holy waters

of the Ganges and the Yamuna

my most secret dreams

my sweetest desires

I will play with the flute escape songs

from the darkness of the binding sky

for the sake of Krishna

I will break with my hands

the chain of my silent slavery

I will finally dance

in the democratic ways of the gods

stroking the snake

of my energetic life

drinking the Amrita of my Truth

which the gods offer me

from the golden cup

of a republic day
