METAMORPHOSIS

If I had the chance for a second life
If I had the possibility to metamorphose
I would undoubtedly be a rose

My body, its stem swaying gracefully
Responding to lovers' whispers discreetly
My eyelashes, its soft petals winking blushingly
My face, it’s whole blooming cheerfully
My breath, its fragrance spraying itself copiously
And the pearl-like raindrops would be my shower & jewellery

Like a rose, I would be ranked high
I would crown, embellish and beautify
Whatever comes across my way
I would incarnate all the devices of poetry
So as to let poets bathe in my ink for eternity

If I had to metamorphose, I would be a rose

A fair rose sharing its scent dose after dose!

ON THE WALL OF NOSTALGIA

On the wall of nostalgia
I drew my footprints
Retreating back
I drew a magic eye
To magnify the scene
Without being seen !

I drew a nicely-shaped heart
Filled with hundreds of stories
One entitled " the school gate "
Ornamented with numbers and letters
Many A's and B's
I drew a hive and lots of bees!
I saw them vividly dancing
Their eights and threes
With an affectionate sign I told them
It's time to stop , I have to cease !

I engraved numbers to compose
The password
Of knowledge and hold
The golden key

On the wall of nostalgia
I doodled a teacher's biography in graffiti

I GREW UP

When your love crossed my path for the first time
I was caught by the sparkle in its eye
It sent me a sweet wink
My heart ,then ,was about to sink
But I turned a blind eye
AND I GREW UP

Chance came back
And knocked on my door once more
But courage was so far
I didn't bother much
I thought I was still young and so was love
But time passed and days tucked away
Leaving a trace on my face
AND I GREW UP

I believed in a promising morrow
When I meet maturity & all will be done appropriately
Yet it was another lost opportunity
AND I GREW UP

Now that I am over the hill
I recall the trail of memories
I cherished the so many offers I cowardly declined
And started writing my own stories
The first entitled AND I GREW UP!
