ASOKE KUMAR MITRA
WINTER NIGHTS
Winter
nights are without dreams
The night
offered roses distilled from your blood
Cold wind,
rain and storm under my skin
You want
to comeback through my veins
Your
passion strained my heart
You play
the anthem of salvation
In my
heart beats where silences build
Unspoken
gently with care moved inside
My dream
anchored in your eyes
Slowly
winter sets in, passionately wipe the shadow
Lilac
blooms in broken temptations, deserted in tears
You wake
up and sinking into despair...

YOU SAID
Define
your heart to me, you said
Someone
else’s existence, against your own
A strange
request, but I answered anyway
Perhaps
you want to get to the bottom of me
Within
your eyes lilac dance
No words
from your golden tongue
A
footprint of clay god and flying broken leaf
Within
your eyes a raging sea...
A mad
dragonfly in a wilderness
Your
question, symphonies of the silence
Memories
arrive as an epitaph
Close your
eyes, feel the silence beneath the skin
Your voice
running into the wind

FEW MOMENTS AGO
You were singing
A song of
past days
Which are
no more
Wished to
touch your lips
Wished to
drink the song
In my
smiling distant nights
You stole
with your glances
My
loneliness
Memories of
past as butterflies
You
vanished with the heart beat
With the
touch of my palm
Salty
taste of tongue
Now the
silence of centuries
Today’s
song will be in memories
