Fate

 

Fate, at times, like a breath of wind, wraps us up in ourselves,

crushing us without mercy.

It is so inescapable that we can neither fight it nor change it…

All our strength is crushed and we find ourselves like crumpled leaves, with no chance of escaping what is now inevitably fatal for us!

Fate often mocks us, just as

a seasoned poker player does when playing his last card, deceiving us and, forever, altering that course of our existence which we believed we could live out peacefully, just as we had wished in our hearts.

Fate is irredeemably mocking and often makes a mockery of us.

Destino

 

Il destino,  a volte, come un soffio di vento, ci avvolge su noi stessi,

ci stritola senza pieta’.

E’ cosi ineluttabile che non si riesce ne’ a combatterlo  e neanche a cambiarlo…

Tutte le forze vengono annientate e ci ritroviamo come foglie accartocciate, senza alcuna possibilità di una eventuale sottrazione  a quel  che per noi è ormai inevitabilmente fatale!

Il Destino spesso si prende beffa di noi, proprio come fa

un pokerista incallito quando gioca la sua ultima carta, ingannandoci e, per sempre, mutando quel  percorso della nostra esistenza che credevamo di poter tranquillamente vivere, cosi come avremmo desiderato nel nostro cuore.

Il destino è irrimediabilmente beffardo  e si prende spesso gioco di noi.

Fate, That Unknown Force

That Has Separated Us.

 

We belong

to a single fate that has separated us, just as love was beginning to

sprout its tender shoots.

Yet we are that invisible silk thread that will never.

Our love has grown stronger CT distance and absence, defying the cruel fate that sought to separate us. 

Today we are irrevocably purchasing two shadows one another, never catching up; yet you live in my thoughts,

in that deepest part of me that misfortune

can never change.

For you are that half that has never fatally united with mine, but which still wanders the cosmos in search of our ‘us’.

You are the silence that still knows how to tell me that love can defy any tragic fate,

just as mine still does, and will do so forever,

for you.

IL DESTINO, QUESTO SCONOSCIUTO CHE CI HA SEPARATI.

Noi apparteniamo

ad un unico destino che ci ha separati, proprio quando l’amore aveva messo i suoi

teneri virgulti.

Eppure noi siamo quel filo invisibile di seta che mai si spezzerà.

Il nostro amore si e’ fortificato nella distanza e nell’assenza, contro la crudele  natalità’  che ci ha voluti separare. 

Oggi, irrimediabilmente siamo come due ombre che si inseguono, ma non si raggiungono mai, eppure  tu vivi nei miei pensieri,

in quella parte profonda di me che la malasorte

non potrà mai cambiare.

Perché tu sei quella meta’ mai fatalmente unitasi alla mia, ma che ancora oggi vaga nel cosmo in cerca del nostro “noi”.

Tu sei il silenzio che sa ancora dirmi che l’amore sa sfidare ogni tragica fatalità, come il mio fa ancora ed eternamente

 per te.

CONCETTA LA PLACA : Author Concetta La Placa (on Facebook : Cettina La Placa Tumminelli). Concetta La Placa is a poet, writer, aphorist, critic, translator, social activist and author of the magazine Alessandria Today. She is well known on the international poetry scene because her poems have been published in over 50 anthologies by various authors and in magazines in different countries around the world, and have been translated into several languages (Spanish, Serbian, Bangladeshi, Indian, Brazilian, American, Peruvian, Uruguayan, Vietnamese, Mexican, Costa Rican, Turkish, Colombian, Portuguese, Iranian, Albanian, etc.). She has published eleven collections of poetry. The eleven is, entitled “Poems of Cosmic Love” in Amazon. She is Ambassador of Peace and Culture for the IFCH Forum and also Ambassador of Indonesia for Rini Valentina. She received an honorary doctorate from the International Forum for Creativity and Humanity of the Kingdom of Morocco. 43/2018 fnaydek Morocco, for her commitment to the fields of culture, art, peace, coexistence and humanity. She is a member of: - Peace Charter Project (Dra. Hc María Elena Ramírez). - RRM3, President, Prof. George Onsy of RENAISSANCE Millennium III.- She is an official member (honorary advisor) of the organisation “Cátedra de Mujeres”, linked to the UN. - She is a member of the Academy of Farsala - Athens, chaired by Yannis Fikas.  She lives in Rome. She has worked as a lecturer at L.U.M.S.A. University in Rome and at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies for the promotion of human rights (childhood, adolescence and the fight against poverty). Over the years, she has given several interviews to leading magazines. The most recent was published in Hassane Yarti's latest work, Unwritten Chapter, Vol. II. She has received numerous awards and honours. She received the Honorary Award from the Aziz Mountassir International Organisation (Ambassador of Peace, Literature and Human Rights). At the 2025 World Summit (Castile-La Mancha) of the International Chamber of Writers and Artists (CIESART), she received the 2025 Honorary Doctorate and the 2025 Palma de Mar Award, both conferred by the International Chamber of Writers and Artists (CIESART), as well as the Medal of Merit and Career of the CIESART Union of Nations - Einstein Scientific and Technological Centre.
