A LOOK AT LIFE -48
Nothing like love
if you have it
the whole word is yours
if you do not
just a beggar you are
It introduces you
to yourself
takes you to the source
from where you have come
to where ultimately you go
It makes your more complete
and true to yourself
brings you closer to the real you
which infact you are
nothing but love and pure love
It let you forget
the make belief differences
you always find and guard
between you and others
it takes you to that state of mind
where you closely identify yourself
with others and become one with
them
It makes you realise how futile it
is to
nurture negative emotions
by having it you only harm yourself
in another way like someone
relishing its own blood for a
moment
By loving others you only love
yourself
by hating others you only hate
yourself
a lover knows what love is all
about
it takes you to that blissful state
of mind
it gives you that ecstasy
and unalloyed pleasure which the
whole world
with all its affluence, beauty and
splendour can hardly fathom

A LOOK AT LIFE-45
Solely concerned
we are with our own suvival
hardly think others who coexist
with us have life of their own
the worst victims of our
selfishness
and misadventure here
We lament
our own survival is at stake
existence in jeopardy
with global warming,
environmental pollution and
attitude of man
putting a serious question mark
as to whether there will be any
life on earth
So obsessed we are with our own
survival
hardly pay any attention to
the environment that nourishes us
the culture that sustains life on
earth
Man being the most clever and
assertive animal on earth has
deprived
others of their due
endowed on them by the almighty
and made a mockery of their life
how many of us accept the
truth that this beautiful earth is
as much ours as it is theirs
There is a limit to exploitation
a limit to the theory of survival
of
the fittest, beyond a limit non
will
survive and the fittest will
succumb to the ire of nature
Time to rethink and reorient
ourself
time to internalise our cultue
that stands for love and
reciprocation
spirit of tolerance, compromise
and peaceful coexistence
Let 'live and let live' be the
motto
or else we only we will be
held responsible for the complete
annihilation of life on this
beautiful earth

3.A LOOK AT LIFE-40
The society
in which i was born
the way i was groomed and
socialised
to look at the world
made me what i am
a machine which confirms
to the values
of the larger society
All along i am taught and schooled
to look at the world
behave, interact and interprete
in a way
defined by the society
to which i belong
With hands and legs
mind and conscience
deeply bound
i am to live a life
far away from me
chained emotion, chained love
caged smile, caged feeling and tear
patterned behaviour, patterned
interaction
i am supposed to love
live and endure
When i first looked at the world
through my own eyes
I felt it was not my eyes
through which
i was looking at
but through a pair of glasses
thickly coloured
by the norms and values of the
society
i never saw the world as it was
but the way i was made to look it
at
The values I inculcated stood in
the way
and blurred my vision
since birth I am in chains
chained in a golden chain
the dos and don'ts
sacred and profane of the society
to which i belong
