SCOTT

A SIGH COMPLETES THE CIRCUIT
Letters are woven
across a silver thread
when the lights go out
and only golden bodies
can be seen to burn
and rise again
from the ashes
of their own magnetic energy
Polarized in perfect form
and meeting in the middle
Tracing spells
on the small of your back
with fingers laced
in lilac and honey
and speaking
the tongue of dreams
until the words flash
in an order
of higher meaning
There are only the two of us
in a world of eight billion others
There is only you and I
before a kiss creates the third
point
You sent me on a mission
to bring back a message
beyond the shades of color
outside the shapes of form
where language creates
the melting point
of alchemy
You summoned the rain
and cleansed me
You ignited the fire
and lit me up
You called the wind
and caressed me
You took a breath
and sighed
CULTIVATE
I’ll plant roses
between your ribs
now that the cage
has been unlocked
I’ll braid dandelions
through your hair
and weave their essence
to kiss your crown
I’ll ripen mangoes
in the sunshine
and touch their sweetness
upon your lips
I’ll juggle apples
from the blessed tree
until you smile
and take a bite
I’ll place an orchid
behind your left ear
and nibble gently
on the right
RED CARPET
There are moments in life
when it all makes sense
Treat them with kindness
and they tend to stick around
There are scenes in the script
writ large by angels
Act from good conscience
and they’ll light up the screen
