Traveling

 

We opened the eyes of the soul,

we set off for the big journey.

On our journey to heaven

the sunbeams were shining. 

They flickered like the light of

candles.

They mirrored

the flame of our souls.

 

Ταξιδεύοντας

Ανοίξαμε  τα  μάτια  της  ψυχής, 

κινήσαμε  για  το  μεγάλο  ταξίδι.

Στο  διάβα  μας  στους  ουρανούς 

λαμπύριζαν  οι  ηλιαχτίδες.

Τρεμόπαιζαν  όπως  το  φως  των 

κεριών.

Των  κεριών  που  καθρέφτιζαν 

τη  φλόγα  στα  σωθικά  μας.

 

Glass Staircase

 

Pigeons carve the fiery

letters of her name.

Time is a relentless enemy

it flows torturous.

Each dawn displays in the center

of the sky the colors of the rainbow.

And we play on the sidelines

of the glass staircase.

 

Γυάλινη Σκάλα

Περιστέρια  χαράζουν  τα  πύρινα 

γράμματα  του  ονόματος  της.

Ο  χρόνος  αδυσώπητος  εχθρός 

κυλάει  βασανιστικά.

Κάθε  αυγή  προβάλει  στο  κέντρο 

τ’  ουρανού  το  τόξο  της  ίριδας.

Κι  εμείς  παίζουμε  στην  άκρη 

της  γυάλινης  σκάλας.

 

Take Off

 

From the heights of the darkest pleasure,

to the deepest levels of his souls desires,

-it was a magical night- with a carved inscription

on the tombstone.

Carnations spreading fragrance in the dark courtyard.

Blood and tears watering her shadow.

And she is standing like a statue on the stairway

to heaven.

 

Απόγειο

Στο  απόγειο  της  πιο  σκοτεινής  ηδονής, 

στα  τρίσβαθα  των  πόθων  της  ψυχής  του,

-νύχτα  μαγική-  με  μία  λαξεμένη  επιγραφή 

στον  τάφο.

Γαρύφαλλα  ευωδιάζουν  στο  σκοτεινό  περίβολο.

Το  αίμα  και  το  δάκρυ  ποτίζουν  τη  σκιά  της.

Κι  εκείνη  στέκει  ίδια  άγαλμα  στη  σκάλα  τ’ 

ουρανού.

MILTIADIS NTOVAS

 

MILTIADIS NTOVAS or Dovas was born in Ioannina of the Greece in 1972.  He      studied Philosophy and Pedagogy and is a PhD of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina.  He works as a professor.  He co-writes essays, fairy tales and five thousand poems, nine thousand haiku and tristiches and two epics.  He published nine poetry collections and one scientific study.
