Clouds

 

Lightning cuts the sky,

rain streams gushing

and moist unstable air

the sudden downpour brings.

 

The cloudy cheers die down

with the roar and thunder of the surf -

after the dry season in the rainy

life is transforming.

 

A pillar of light glows

silvery or gold-bearing -

rays passed through droplets

are halo refracted.

 

The rays of the sun are shining

sometimes with a silky sheen –

water has a memory, comes to life

with images of God.

 

Words Of Light

 

You are splendid in the window opposite

high above feuds and times –

I feel you painfully and acutely

and my words gush into light.

 

And in the stained glass of a distant era

you break the china of your laughter –

should I wave my hand that I recognized you

dumbfounded and superstitious by surprise.

 

Poetry is a crucifix for us -

to exalt ways without number.

I praise her songful embrace,

and I believe it is yours, my God!

 

Vision For The Future

 

What an unearthly snow plain –

and the words in my verse begin to shine –

I came here after the last war

to write a new geography.

 

Under our steps in frantic accompaniment

triumphant chords rang out

and I was looking for new forms of life

in a cold future without people.

 

I matured with pre-spring nostalgia

a message from around the planet

in Bach's space music,

before I say goodbye to the ices.
