Longings
Like
An empty
Pot
I
Needed
You
To
Fill me
You,
Just
Turned
And
Slept...
Unspoken words
Tell
What
Voices
Hide.
Live
I
In
A
Hall of mirrors
Illusions,
Delusions,
Fantasies,
Reverberate
Again
And
Again
And
I,
An empty pot
Reverberating
Remain !
Fishing...!
He
Has cast
The
Net
And now
Waits.
Waits
For
His catch.
Money, lucre,
love...
What
Will
I fall for
I
Wonder...
The Unwelcome Guest
(An Ode to Death)
You have visited
me
Many
Times
Forcing me to
say
Good bye
To
My loved ones.
You
Leave me in
tears
When you go
For,
You take with
you
My happiness, my
cheer.
Today,
You stand
At
My threshold
again
I know
I will open the
door
And
Let you in
Unwelcome guest,
Unwelcome guest!
NITA B GEORGE
NITA B GEORGE, the Poet, has been
an English teacher at the Graduation level for 37 years. She comes from a
family that has its roots in a poetic ethos. Poetry in her has deep springs
that bubble out in the form of beautiful poems. She has developed her own style
of expression that is marked by simplicity in diction, judicious use of imagery
and poetic techniques and economy of words. No long-drawn repetitions or
wasting of space is found in her style of poetry. Structurally too, her
innovative 'one word in a line' and minimal punctuation is an attractive
element of her poems. Although Fantasy plays a great role in her poems, it is
the ground realities of life and experiences that are her source of
inspiration. Her poems are spontaneous outpouring of the heart...the titles of
the poems declare the themes of the poems and help the reader to relate the
poems to the ideas that stream out consequently...
