CHRISTOS DIKBASANIS

Electronic Diving

I go deep into the womb of my machine

I have the knowledge

but I don't own bottomless worlds

of unimaginable virtual reality

I sink into the matrix

I am affected

but I'm not coming out

from the unfaithful skies

of electronic reality

I dive into the matrix

I descend in it

I'm involved

with my digital image

and my soul's algorithms

The Salvation

I will leave my heart

to be seduced by the sirens of dreams,

from my longing for a homeland

which was never given to me

My desires were forgotten tied to the mast

of bitterness and unfulfilled

I am a beggar of calm days of

love and understanding,

of the one bound by bonds of compassion

and global tolerance

But I haven't slept after my beloved's last kiss

which is now in the box of timeless time

I am wide awake waiting to transform

in a butterfly her soul,

to lift me up on her wings,

to take me beyond the pain and the armed conflicts

that weigh like stones on my fingers,

to be seduced by the shadow of myself

in the blinding light of new undead worlds

at the edge of infinity,

to deliver me from my earthly passions,

to purify me by baptizing me

in the holy water of eternal peace

The Memory

The memory of peace’s days is sleepless tonight

It’s a eerie, unscathed, undefined creature

who does not say to sleep in the layer of oblivion

He knows very well to paint with hope

the canvas of my life,

to fill with sobs my few moments of peace,

to assemble even temporarily

my fragmented existence

The memory of times

of love, understanding, tolerance is vigilant

How it alienates me from the hours of pain and death!

How quickly it fills me up

with words and silences of peace and prosperity

that I lose them during of my broken days!

How it frees me from guilt and bitter regrets!

How much it unites me

with the familiar, the gentle, the hopeful face

of unity and solidarity!

He always offers me purification and forgiveness

for my inhuman thoughts and actions

But I am a perishable body, a finite mind,

a lover of justice and truth

which, however, cannot escape

from the wars of his passions
