PRASANNA KUMARI

CRIES AFTER THE FLOOD

laughter faded,time darkened
light spilled out,thoughts flowed out
the earth wailing and begging and pleading
to the Sun,not to leave
are you also tired,it is late night
dear glowing Sun
the night calls the moon pitifully
are you hidden in the azure sky?
even our grief is darkened
helpless,hopeless in the roaring waters
the dreams also......

BEAUTY

the deep blue of the horizon
embracing the flourishing earth
plucking the flowers from the sky
decorated by the rainbow colors
melting into the lonely melancholic
twilight of the heavenly tree
spilling poetry
whispering to the enthralling
lotus swaying by the breeze
yearning, longing to the cuddling of nature

AFFECTED.....  THE FLOOD AND WATER

The water gushing without grammar and punctuation
The flood shouting without accent and intonation
The mighty wind flowing without syllables or consonants
Carcasses floating without wisdom and knowledge
Driftwood staying inside shops and houses
Snakes knocking at the door frightening the light and fans
Mud saluting the legs blocking the way
The dawn smells stale, the dusk of despair
Petulant wind lashing the existence
Ho,
The sky, once an enchantress seducing our mind
with her silver moon and glowing stars
Now stares at us with her darkened shadows
Ho,
Wading through with drowned ambitions
Hands together, hearts together
We erase boundaries, going forward
Now,
weeping and laughing together
The rest is untranslatable
