SOMETHING I LOOK AT-11
BOND
True is that thread of love
true are those captivating moments
true is that fascinating world
true is that early childhood
for which one can live and die
True is that mother's womb
that gave birth to all of us
true is that lovely sister
who only loved and loved
never expecting anything in
reciprocation
true are those hands
that picked my fingers
and taught me
how to walk on the thorny path of
life
and make it to the top
True are the disasters
we encountered
true are the catastrophes
we witnessed
true is the way you fought
stood rock solid
and safely brought us ashore
True is the sweetest of
relationship
we had
and the nicest of moments
we shared
true is the manner in which
we fought and encountered
the ups and downs of life
and came out with flying colours
The most beautiful thing
that can happen to a man
is a woman
who in all her forms
fulfils and completes a man
true that the cutest of
relationship
one can ever have is with a sister
a perfect companion and a true
guide
whose only concern is her brother's
wellbeing
true is that
a brother is never too old
to have the hands of a sister
on his head and
he is never big enough
to miss that delicate touch
and the thread of love
which binds for a lifetime
one with the other

A LOOK AT LIFE-54
LOYALTY
loyalty to what and whom?
to an individual
who does not understand its meaning
to a relationship
that stands on permanent interests
and hypocrisy
to an idea
that misguides and takes one to the
brink of a calamity
or to something else?
when loyalty makes one blind to the
reality
when based on negative reasons and
unscientific reasoning, how hazardous it
is, instead of fulfilling, it kills the man within
in
roles and relationships man lives
remaining true and doing justice to
one's roles, individuals, relationships and values in thoughts, words and deeds
is what define loyalty
it is never a blind commitment to
naked self-interests, dogmas, superstitions and the forces and beliefs,
attitudes and endeavours that is against truth and justice
man and humanity
responding to the larger society
its needs and values,
collective conscience and betterment of
humanity
is what mean loyalty
to remain loyal to others
you are to be loyal to yourself
to the man within, to your inner
voice
the values you inculcated
the more you are loyal to yourself
the more you are loyal to the rest
to truth, love, peace and
brotherhood
when you are true and loyal to your
conscience, you make others loyal and become a better man
people and ideologies will come and
go, relationships are cultivated, institutions
grow and decline, but one's loyalty is beyond these, always to the
betterment of humanity
loyalty to an individual, to an
institution, towards an ideology, man and his whims and caprices irrespective
of the goals they strive, means they adopt, which your inner you never accept
is but disloyalty to man and the society
let your loyalty be full and
complete
to your love and relationships,
ideas and idols and anything you
consider true and genuine
loyalty lies in listening to the
voice of humanity, in a commitment to
ideas, endeavours and relationships that is an integral part of man and his
development,
always in tune with decency and
morality, law of the land and betterment of society

SOMETHING I LOOK AT-102
DYING A DEATH
oh my near and dear!
don't stretch my life
beyond nature's favour
when death is a certainty
why are you so reluctant
to accept the reality?
when hours and days are numbered
of what use adding a few more?
my body never listens to what i say
my mind is not with me, somewhere
else
i am not the same i was
the battle is over, yet to fight
the war
how long you will stretch my life
and what for?
is a body having very little in it
going to serve you and your purpose
anymore?
don't drag me to the icu
i don't want to languish in pain
waiting for a death so difficult to
come by
i lived life to the full
let me live my last days as i wish
with all that i loved and lived
with
in open air and bright sunlight
let me take my last breath
in the midst of kith and kin
take the last few steps
slowly and silently and feel the
moment
that stands between life and death
don't put me on a ventilator
i never want to lie motionless
enduring all the pain that comes my
way
silently suffering with none of my friends
hands and legs, eyes and ears to
stand by
imagine life on life supports
how horrible it is with organs
after organs
failing leaving me to witness my
trusted friends dying one by one making me the sole survivor to endure the pain
and agony
with a few drops of tears oozing
out of my eyes
my dear!
death is a peaceful transition from
one state of consciousness to
another
our ignorance, desire and attempt
to stretch it make it unnatural,
unbearable, sad and pathetic.
if you love me, let me die as such
with the cool breeze and bright
sunshine drenching the whole of me
let me bid farewell
to my beautiful world where i was loved and betrayed, smiled
and cried, lived the whole of my life in hope and despair
