LJILJANA MILOSAVLJEVIC

LJILJANA MILOSAVLJEVIC

LOVE SONG

I don’t need a poet
you are the poetry inside me

Into the wind we throw words
smiles and quietude

Thoughts travel
through time

it flows
it doesn’t stand still
and we are inside of it

Who even mentions love
look at me
we already share a lasting one

LOVE

The encounter of winter
and spring
A new time

You are smiling

In the distance
the southern wind
is in your eye
Spring is
in my stride

colliding
with quietude

A POET’S GIFT

Orange-like moon is red
I glimpse it so that my eye makes it blue
your hands smell like basil
I compose you into a poem
and the clock is ticking in silence

What a strange kindness in you
as if I am sifting sand
with my skirt in knee-deep waters
and a golden grain shines
when I least expect it

And then I laugh like a child
mesmerized by the blue glow
reflecting myself in the poem
I forget about the fallen teardrop
that has fallen asleep at the corner of my lips
