Rainbow Rag In My Front Yard
It’s always
spring in my Californian front yard!
I have a rainbow
rag of African daisies.
The groundcover
catches the eyes
of dazzling
butterflies and humming bees.
Waltzing under
the light morning breeze
the flowers
invite shiny beetles and ladybugs.
The blooms smile
until the sun says “good bye”
and my rainbow
rag gently closes eyes. Night- night!

Peace Is Needed To Exist
.
When somebody
mentions “America”,
as an
anthropologist, I say “Which one do you mean?
The North or
South? Be more specific, please”.
Look at the map.
They both exist.
In contrast.
They differ like day and night.
.
The one on
south, has this incredible tropical forest.
It has Amazonian
tribes who still hunt
with long tubes
and powerful blows;
untouched by
modern civilization.
.
The other one
has North Aurora’s lights;
Alaskan long
nights, a long Canadian border,
landed
pathfinders on Mars and the Moon
and deal with
global cultural boom.
.
I did fieldworks
in both, studied the cultures, the art,
the costumes,
the dwellings and the quinine.
So, I know one
thing…People in both Americas like
to make love,
smile and dance. And the most of all,
they WANT PEACE,
because PEACE is needed to exist.
(Note: I am an anthropologist ethno-musicologist and
my work is to study and teach cultures)

Footprints in the Clouds
F - Fluffy
dandelion globe
O - One time
there was a golden bloom.
O - One time it
dreamt to fly high to the sky.
T - The sky
smiled from above.
S - So, did the
Sun and gave a simple advice
T - To wait
until bloom turns into a silver globe.
E - Evening
breeze helped all seeds glide.
P – Prints!
Silver footprints were left on the clouds.
S – Smile! That
was me in a happy summer flight.
Pua Lei, My Flower Garland
(May 1st is known
as Lei Day in Hawaiʻi)
Every day of
this week, I sit
outside in my
back yard
under glorious
plumeria tree
and gather my
‘pua lei plumeria’ rings.
I sing the old ‘Papakōlea’
song
with my beloved
Hawaiian friend.
All colors of
vibrant blooms
dance in my
hands gently arranged
on ‘kui pua’
long strings.

Can You Hear the Honey Bees?
Adorned with
fluffy clouds, Spring runs around;
melting snow
cups still hug the mighty picks.
Glowing rainbows
kiss the warming ground.
Kaleidoscopic
colors dance around!
Sweet happy
songs of waterfalls and creeks
awake the
blooming rugs on meadows and fields.
Birds and giant
honey bees play hide-and-sick
with the first
happy rays over the hills.
Spring’s sweet
flutes
awake every
creature hidden in the woods.
Fairies make a
magic flickering their wings;
their divine
wands sprinkle blissful moods.
Baby-owls are
popping their blinking eyes
looking out to
jump from the hollowed trunks.
Spring kisses
the joyful blossoming trees.
Can you hear
there the honey bees?
