LINDA IMBLER
THE
TONGUES OF ANGELS
They stand
at the edge of shadows,
limned yet
unseen.
They send to
me
the best
words from the ether.
Words softly
expressed
or messages
felt as wordless warnings.
When I pull
the bell rope
to ask for
assistance,
they help me
see through the hidden.
They expose
crystal situations,
aiding this
unrehearsed rider
upon the
wagon
of forward
falling,
helping me
readjust the wheel
and right
myself once again.
LEAF
From the
mystic green of trees,
does each
leaf bemoan its own demise?
Foliage
follows each season
into life
then unto
death.
THIS FAIR MAN WITH WHOM
THE UNIVERSE CONVERSES
What he says echoes what he does.
What he says is birthed from what
he believes.
What he does squares with what he
believes.
What he does mirrors what he says.
What he believes evinces what he
says.
What he believes is exemplified by
what he does.
His mantra:
Let love and respect grow by
principled means.
He has no wicked affection of gain,
knows there can be no wins without
losses,
yet will give up all
but the safety and souls of others
to be victorious.
He lays no blame outside himself,
demands no quarter,
relies on no one’s strength
but his own.
He will not steal another’s
vitality.
He’s grasped that
there will never be one imperfect
story perfectly told,
nor one perfect story imperfectly
told,
so his judgements are temperate.
This man with whom the Universe
converses,
if only we could all live as he.
