DONNA MCCABE

Ocean Of Emotions...

Between the calm and chaos

I am an ocean of emotions

Rising and falling

Crashing and rolling

Ebbing and flowing

Just wanting to land upon

Silent sandy shores sometimes

To rest awhile.

Only One Earth

We have only one earth

Only one home

The only green planet

That we've ever known

It's essential and vital

That we all do our bit

To learn the value of life

Of this lush planet which we live

It's critical to our survival

And the generations to come

Before it's to late to be undone.

Perhaps Love...

Lonely for so long

Perhaps love

Will find me some day

Wrap me in its arms

Bathing me

In harmonious comfort.

Seeds Of Change

Not the most budding of years

Seeds of change upset the balance

Dark moments of grief took hold

Even on the sunniest of days

Yet there were glints of hope

Fleeting moments of peace too

Knowing that these storms of change

Would soon bring flourishing rain

To those seeds of change

Next year promising to be

The blooming best ever.

Unforeseen

I was blinded

Impervious to what

Life had in store

But how I learned

My lessons well

Still having faith

And peace inside

After all I have

Witnessed and seen.

Where Rivers No Longer Flow...

The land is arid, dry and parched

No longer lush and green

Becoming a barren wasteland

An apocalyptic scene

Dramatically changed through climate change

Hardly any rainfall any more

Death has come to claim this land

Where no rivers no longer flow.
