Abandoned Heart
She walked along
an empty street.
The darkness of
night blanketing her soul.
Left destitute
and depleted.
Once full of
life.
A heart that
beat strong
With passionate
love,
Was now barren.
Exhausted, from
the existence
Of a tragic
romance.
She bestowed
every depth of her being.
Extending her
hand-
Finding an
unanswered reply.
Her love
overflowed,
Into a vacant
wasteland of idle words.
Foolishness,
Foolishness
She cries, to
give herself away,
To an idle n’
inexpressible rendezvous.
Intimacy proved,
Fruitless, Temporary, Forgotten…
After the door
shut behind him.
So, her heart
bleeds
With every
abandoned step.
Mixing with the
tears
Of unrequited
Love.
Firm Foundation
Hiding within
oneself, result of shame, regret,
Hoping no one
sees.
As the shameful
bite brought up bile
In the original
sin, hid,
Naked and
Afraid.
First initial
feeling of panic set in
A feeling
unknown
Due to heaviness
that binds.
Into confusion
and uncertainty; unrest
Tremendous
darkness blankets upon
Permeating every
perceived space.
Once a delight;
A free spirit
Now chained to a
lie,
Which thought
was truth.
Shame covers
like a blanket.
Weighted in
memories:
Recalling;
Oppressing
Remembering;
Depressing
What if… Sinking
in the
Should of…
Drowning in the
What should I
do…. Anxious about
Where should I
go… Panicking in the
Am I capable…
Uncertainty becomes
Running,
running, running
From that which
seems unescapable.
The northern
winds bluster,
Toward an
unknown destination
Carried by
life’s wind’s:
Choices,
decisions, demands.
Whirling,
whirling, whirling.
Grasping unto
stability, only to lose grip.
Time after time
Attempt after
attempt.
Caught up in the
tornado of inner thought.
Finally grasps
ahold
Of a rooted
tree.
Looking up,
holding on for life
See a man, bound
to the tree,
He was looking
Heavenward,
Crying for you
and me.
Perceiving the
man to be in a state as mine,
Rejected,
lonely, holding on for life.
Notice he’s
beaten, tortured and bleeding.
Thinking this
man was defeated,
Suddenly with
great power
Escapes the
nails which kept Him bound,
Defeating the
evil all around, and
All the darkness
which bound
To the tree in
fear, found anew
The man in
King’s garments
Embraced and
then placed
A new white
garment to replace
The torn and
weathered clothes
From the wind
and the rains.
He advises to
stay and pray.
To build the
house on the foundation built
Rooted under the
tree
In which He
sacrificed
The Cornerstone
placed,
A sustainable
foundation
Built with love,
grace and purity.
Here I will
remain, until the day
He returns to
wipe every tear away,
With beauty and
splendor
Rising from the
depths, and anchor
To the firm
foundation.
Twenty-Four Hour Cycle of Time
The sun falls
upon the horizon.
Revealing the
beauty before night
As the moon
replaces its glory
Illuminating
darkness in sight.
It is to be
seen, as will be heard.
No longer will
she silence the night.
Nor deafen the
strong voice inside.
Or shall the
still small voice hide.
Under the
darkness that encamps around
As the leaves
change from green to gold
His hand reaches
out when it is cold.
Revealing noon’s
brightness, or
A night that is
bold.
All a
twenty-four-hour cycle of time
As the body
becomes dust to dust
The promise of
eternal life stays.
Which has no
time, in view from above.
In the day or
the night, it remains.
The illumination
of the heart
The promise
continues, displays.
A glory too
bright to part.
