If Love Was A Tree
If love was a
tree, how would it be?
Its fresh oxygen
kissing my cheeks.
Its rustling
leaves whispering endearments.
Its canopy
giving me shade.
If love was a
tree, how would it be?
Its branches surrounding
me.
Its fruits
nourishing me.
Its sturdiness
giving me strength.
If love was a
tree, how would it be?
The birds in it
singing songs for me.
The butterflies
hovering around it giving my eyes delight.
The fresh green
leaves giving solace to my soul.
Oh Wind! Break Me Free
Oh wind! Break
me free.
Break me free
from the drudgeries of life.
Break me free
from the overload of work.
Where work piles
up and doesn't end.
Oh wind! Break
me free.
Break me free
from all problems.
Break me free
from the twists and turns of life.
Where I have to
be alerted every moment.
Oh wind! Put me
down.
Let me be tied
up with my loved ones.
Let me be tied
up with fruitful creativity.
Where nature,
work and my loved ones give me solace.
The Rikki Tikki Tavi Moment
Sitting on the
Joe's Folly verandah,
Sipping a
freshly brewed Darjeeling tea
Accompanied by a
fish corn pie.
Suddenly a furry
creature with a fluffy tail
Comes out of the
bushes and roams around.
The morning sun
dazzling on the green grass of the lawn.
I shout out,
"That's a mongoose there".
I softly tread
towards it and the mongoose scurries away.
I follow it
around the lawn.
It then goes
behind some bushes in an enclosure.
It crawls along
and then vanishes.
But the joy
remains in my mind.
I realised it
was a Rikki Tikki Tavi moment.
The story of
Rudyard Kipling read in my ICSE.
The thrill and
romance came back to me.
