Bonsai...
Beautifully
shaped
Older than
appearance
Neatly pruned
Structured
And styled
Intricately.
Brick Walls
Coming up
against a brick wall
Blending in like
a chameleon for a while
Contemplating,
reflecting, healing
Preserving and
building strength
Before smashing
through, brick by brick
To find all the
good things, that lay behind it
That were there
waiting, all along...
Heartbreak
Stitching
together the fragments
Of this broken
heart of mine
Sick of getting
it broken
Time after time
Sought out the
toughest needle
And the most
enduring of thread
Now double
stitching over all the edges
That nearly left
me dead
Now this heart
is mended
Sure, it's got
scars galore
But it's
stronger, more resilient
As it knows more
than it did before.
Musical Maelstrom
Music washes
over me
Like waves upon
the sand
Moving, stirring
and churning up
All sorts of
untold, forgotten
And repressed
emotions
A cacophony of
bad
A euphony of
sweet
A sentimental in
between
Melancholy
musical memories
All therapeutic
in the end.
On Reading...
Looking for
knowledge
Wanting to soak
it all in
Universal,
spiritual,
Everything
that's akin
Needing to know
things
The deeper
meaning of it all
Yet time is the
enemy
I can never
forestall
So I'll never
know everything
This is for sure
But the pleasure
of reading
I know has many
a cure.
Paper Heart...
Yes, this heart
has been crumpled
Crumpled up many
a time
Used, abused and
thrown about
But you know
what
It's still
beautiful
Even with its myriad
of crooked lines
It has become a
mosaic of scars
Gained knowledge
and wisdom
A work of art in
its own right
This paper heart
has weathered many a fight.
