CHRISTOS DIKBASANIS

Don’t Be Afraid

Fear no more!

We have arrived at the hospitable planet

whom we have been searching for all lifetime

In his unknown desert we will now light fires

to warm the love, the desire for a new life,

the end of our loneliness,

the expectation of a new beginning

in the days of the creation of new worlds,

our destination which has God's blessing

Fear no more!

The dangers have passed

Seasons of cleansing rain are coming

The death that lurked in our eyes

it is now nowhere

It will be long before the time of our departure comes

for other secret corners of the Universe

Let's warm our hands together!

Tomorrow we will have many nice things

to make for ourselves and for the human race

New Worlds

There is madness on this planet

where we finally landed

There is pain, sorrow, lament

but also hope and expectation

for new bright days

Our faith in new destinations is being questioned

in the day after tomorrow

There is a strong sense of responsibility

for the survival of the human race

At last, we will separate the myth from logic

with songs of the paranoiac

with sleepless nights of searching

the Eternal Light

We will repel the eternal darkness

with words of brotherhood and sympathy

We will push back the black marks

of our earthly days,

making colonies,

sparkling worlds who will touch

with affection one another

The Sun Fugitive

The sun is shining!

Good morning sun!

I open the window of my soul

to welcome you as befits you

Come on Sun, a new day is rising

on your golden fingers

the bright ones and imperishable

Come closer Sun!

Get my hopes up

for another different, better world!

Revive my memory

through the ashes of time

Dissolve the darkness of my heart

Break down the walls of my loneliness

Banish the ravenous beast of my passions

I have no more martyrdom

to sacrifice to its bulimia

Hide me in your arms tamer, charmer sun!

Discover the lost parts of myself

and help me to complete

the puzzle of my life

Make my fears to disappear, oh my dear friend!

But why are you walking away from me?

Why are you running away from my desires?

I don't even have time to greet you

Why you leave me again

in the darkness of my room,

without giving me even a ray

of sunshine for companionship?

Slowly

Blessed companion,

how I admire you!

You are the elusive levitation

of my deepest dreams

You are the place where I adore

the only truth of my desires

You are a unique being

you are not afraid of the strong wind

You are the veil of my memory

which circling me with warmth

Sometimes you hurt yourself

Sometimes you leave your light

to invade my slow-moving cells

It is my great happiness

to deal with your nerves and shyness

It is your mistakes the whole epic of Homer

If I'm being fair to you

time and my choices will judge me

I see you in motion sickness

But don't be sad!

Sadness doesn't suit you

Take your own way and I will follow you

with heavy dragging step

Besides, it’s no rush for us to conquer the world.

There is plenty of time to amaze the crowds

Today Let’s Love And Be Loved

Today let's fly, get rid of

the faces of hate,

of anger, injustice, discrimination.

Today let's love each other

Today let's smile

for the first time, every time

let it be the first time,

to the shells, in the stars,

to equality, in brotherhood,

to the pure–real love

Today let us kneel

on the mile-long pavement of our lives

and let us pray together with our brothers,

all the people of the Earth

beyond languages, religions, tribes,

special or unusual qualities,

preferences, choices

Today let's love and be loved

because we all have the same nails

in our hands and feet,

because we,

all the people of the Earth,

have the same Golgotha to climb
