SOFIA SKLEIDA

SOFIA SKLEIDA

Che Fece Il Gran ... Debutto

Your contemplation reaches the cosmic firmament

through high walls in the continuum of time

 Alexandrian poet

Fallen leaves, seed of imminent knowledge

Historical and philosophical events surround your sensuality

Invisible heroes strive to guard Thermopylae

To emerge from your pen, from the sadness of a conscious search

and of an existentially denounced identity

Simple, distant and earthy

You climb high walls

step by step

through a constant journey of self-immersion and occult monism

Sacred legacy of your words in the eternal ...

* The first public appearance - Title inspired by Cavafy's poem "Che fece… il gran rifiuto"

Ode

Our dreams escaped

Could not bear to groan on a lonely canvas

They crossed the borders of the earth

to paint the youth of the world

with indelible mental touches

The borders are inaccessible, unguarded

The common zone in protest

The international market smirks our demands

and the New law * are struggling to break the boundaries of time

that feels our wounds…

*  "New law" (new legal code), means the fourth and final section of Justinian's legislative work

Speranza

Pilgrimage the loneliness

Prayer the sadness

You are fighting…

You contract, distend

Again from the beginning

You dissolve, you crash

Again intact

And the "ode of joy" **

hovering in the remnants of the world…

*Hope

** "The Ode to Joy" was written in 1785 by the German Friedrich Schiller and set to music by Ludwig Van Beethoven in 1824. In 1972 it was adopted as the anthem of the European Council
