GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE

GEORGIANA-LAURA GHEORGHE

Saint Nicholas

He who gave help to the unfortunate,
Protector of children
Enlighten the people’s souls.
We’re eagerly awaiting your arrival,
Shower kindness into the dark hearts,
Bring the oppressed justice
And give a ray of hope to everyone.

Santa’s Wish 1

Winter has arrived,
Snow covered
The frozen and sleepy earth.
It glitters in the sunlight at daytime
And in the moonlight at nighttime.
The fire is burning silently in the fireplace,
The smell of apples, cinnamon
And chocolate overwhelms our nostrils.
A chime of bells
And children’s laughter
Are echoing the air.
Christmas knocks on the door
Bathing us in light.
There’s hustle and bustle everywhere.
People are decorating their Christmas trees
While carolers are spreading cheer.
Warm-hearten souls we become.
The year passed with its ups and downs,
But we managed to get here fit as a fiddle.
Although he did his best
Santa tried and managed
To bring you a present.
Despite it being small and insignificant
Santa hopes that you’ll cherish it
And that it will bring a smile on your face.
He wishes you a „Merry Christmas!”
A sack full of everything you desire
And all your wishes to come true.

The Virtues

In an enchanted realm
The workers came
To put up something grand.
Hard-working as they were
They quickly got to work.

Responsibility took hold of the arrangements,
Faith increased their stamina,
Perseverance guided them forward
Self-discipline kept the beasts away.

Generosity offered them everything,
From words of encouragement
To nourishment, clothes, shelter
And equipment.
Honesty praised them,
But also scolded them.

The minute everything
Was finished,
They throw
A huge party.

The yard was crowded,
Iris was at the door
Welcoming the guests.
Courage in armour
Arrived first,
Accompanied by the winged love
Who was covered with flowers.

Respect being a gentleman
Let the others in first.
Countess Compassion gave him
A gentle kiss on the cheek as a way
Of thanking him.

Lady Modesty
Politely refused
The baron’s emerald.

General Justice
And Discretion, the warrior woman
Were keeping everything under control.

Moderation and abstinence seeing
How late it was,
Announced the guests
That the party was over.
