Inclusion

From the orchestra of sensations

only moments are stopped in time.

They remain,

they last like an inclusion hidden in amber.

The past veiled by the memory

of stone nature.

My mind are the corals of the past,

monads of memories

immersed in a whirl of madness.

The corals of the future crystallize

into indeterminacy.

Fortune will materialize tomorrow.

Z orkiestry doznań

tylko chwile są zatrzymane w czasie.

Pozostają,

trwają jak inkluzja ukryta w bursztynie.

Przeszłość zawoalowana pamięcią

kamiennej natury.

Mój umysł to korale przeszłości,

monady wspomnień

zanurzone w wirze szalonego biegu.

Korale przyszłości krystalizują się

w nieokreśloność.

Przypadek zmaterializuje jutro.

Parachron

Entwined in a minute seconds

bud into hours

and keep on going.

And we

cuddled in time,

surrounded by the world

sometimes look into the sky

to count the stars

and wait for the sunrise.

Without a watch

one can live.

It is not a parachron*

but it colors a minute

that no longer waits for the cuckoo.

At the end and at the beginning

we are always in time.

Czasochron

Splecione w minutę sekundy

pączkują w godziny

i dalej mkną.

A my

wtuleni w czas,

otoczeni światem

niekiedy spoglądamy w niebo,

by liczyć gwiazdy

i czekać na wschód słońca.

Bez zegarka

można żyć.

On nie jest czasochronem

lecz wybarwia minutę,

która już nie czeka na kukułkę.

Na końcu i na początku

jesteśmy zawsze w czasie.

Jokester

We frolic with death,

every day we joke about life.

And it slips by.

Every day we get closer

to no longer being human,

instead to being

only a body

and a memory

in the minds of the Jokesters.

Figiel

Figlujemy ze śmiercią,

codziennie żartujemy z życia.

A ono umyka.

Każdego dnia mamy bliżej,

aby przestać być człowiekiem,

a stać się

tylko ciałem

i wspomnieniem

w umysłach Figlarzy.

ELIZA SEGIET – Master's Degree graduate in Philosophy. Completed postgraduate studies in Cultural Knowledge, Philosophy, Arts and Literature at Jagiellonian University. She is a member of The Association of Polish Writers and The World Nations Writers Union. The laureate of The International Annual Publication of 2017 for the poem Questions, and for the Sea of Mist in Spillwords Press in 2018. For her volume of Magnetic People she won a literary award of a Golden Rose named after Jaroslaw Zielinski (Poland 2019 r.). Her poem The Sea of Mists was chosen as one of the best amidst the hundred best poems of 2018 by International Poetry Press Publication Canada. In The 2019 Poet's Yearbook, as the author of Sea of Mists, she was awarded with the prestigious Elite Writer’s Status Award as one of the best poets of 2019. She was awarded World Poetic Star Award by World Nations Writers Union – the world’s largest Writers’ Union from Kazakhstan. In September 2019 she was 1st Place Laureate (Foreign Poetry category) – in Contest Quando È la Vita ad Invitare for poem Be Yourself (Italy). Her poem Order from volume Unpaired was selected as one of the 100 best poems of 2019 in International Poetry Press Publications (Canada). In November 2019 she is a nominee for Pushcart Prize. In December 2019 she is a nominee for iWoman Global Awards 2020. Laureate Naji Naaman Literary Prizes 2020.
