Defying Death
Once Yamraj came
to me in my dreams.
I was shocked,
“Was I dead?”
“No, no you
still have time”, said he.
Can I defy
death, I asked?
Yamraj became
silent for a while
Then he laughed
out loud in style.
“You can defy
death if you celebrate life.
You can defy
death if you fulfill your dreams.
No cribbing, no
regret, only fruitful work.
You can defy
death if you love with your heart.
Enjoy every
moment, every happening in life
Try to solve
problems, try to bring peace in strife”.
You Don’t Die…
You don’t die if
there is love for you in the heart of others.
You don’t die if
you have brought peace amongst brothers.
You don’t die if
you have spread love all around.
You don’t die if
for you others in happiness abound.
You don’t die if
you have worked hard for any creation.
You don’t die if
you have nurtured your next generation.
You don’t die if
you have reached out to help.
You don’t die if
you have cared for others, not only own self.
You don’t die if
you have conserved Mother Earth’s resources.
You don’t die if
you have stopped evil forces.
You don’t die if
you have nurtured a sapling and planted a tree.
You don’t die if
you help marine creatures survive in the sea.
You don’t die if
you listen to pains of a friend and with her walk, a mile.
You don’t die if
you can bring on a child’s face a smile.
Death, A Celebration
A fulfilled
life, a life of joy.
Lap up every
moment, like a treasured toy.
Dance and tap to
a lovely tune.
This will make
you happy soon.
Do what you want
to do.
Be yourself!
Don’t be in any other shoe.
Pour passion
into all your work.
Do something
new, different and stark.
When your death
knell rings.
Let your praise
all sing.
A complete life
is a wonderful session.
Death then
becomes a celebration.
