Days that are born 

to make hearts vibrate

of joyful smiles,

or sadden them with tears and regrets.

Ungrateful days that pass mercilessly

 stealing joy, love and time from existence. 

They crystallize a pain, a face or a love.

Days like an album, 

quickly browsed by the wind of existence.

 They leave indelible traces

 on the mysterious journey of  our life.

Giorni

Giorni che nascono

per far vibrare i cuori

di sorrisi gioiosi,

o intristirli con lacrime e rimpianti.

Giorni ingrati che corrono impietosi

 e rubano gioia, amore e tempo all’esistenza. 

Cristallizzano un dolore, un volto o un amore.

Giorni come un album, 

sfogliato rapido dal vento dell’esistenza.

 Lasciano tracce indelebili

 nel cammino misterioso della vita.

The Search For Love

 I looked for you, oh love, in endless nights 

of loneliness, torment, sadness.

 I called upon you when life 

 slapped, hurt, outraged my soul.

 I waited for you on a street corner,

on warm spring evenings.

 I glimpsed you in the rosy dawn of flashes,

full of promises, 

in the bright gaze of a child,

 in the caresses, tears and kisses of a mother.

You are in the air 

scented with roses and lilacs,

in the festive flight of the swallows,

in the waters of a lonely stream,

in the sea in a summer night,

in the myriads of iridescent stars in the sky, 

 or in the falling ones. 

You were everywhere, 

you are everywhere!

You exist in the world, 

in my heart which opens 

to the confident infinite.

So why are you running away?

Why do you walk away from me?   

La ricerca dell’amore

 Ti ho cercato, o amore, in notti infinite 

di solitudine, tormento, tristezza.

 Ti ho invocato quando la vita 

 schiaffeggiava, feriva, oltraggiava la mia anima.

 Ti ho aspettato all’angolo di una via,

nelle tiepide sere primaverili.

 Ti ho intravisto nell’alba rosea di bagliori,

prodiga di promesse, 

nello sguardo luminoso di un bambino,

 nelle carezze, nel pianto e nei baci di una madre.

Sei  nell’aria profumata di rose e lillà,

nel volo festoso delle rondini,

nelle acque di un torrente solitario,

 nel mare in una notte d’estate,

nelle miriadi di stelle iridescenti nel cielo, 

 o in quelle cadenti. 

Eri ovunque, sei ovunque!

 Esisti nel mondo, nel mio cuore

 che si apre all’infinito fiducioso.

 Allora, perché fuggi?

 Perchè ti allontani da me?

Don't look for me

 among the stars!

I'm close to you,

 in your heart,

 in its accelerated beats,

in your breaths, in your mind. 

And I feel your love 

cross my soul, 

I read it in your thoughts.

I find it in your never-quenched desire 

to meet again one day,

in the painful feelings

that stir your heart.

I am in the wind 

that lightly caresses you,

 in the sun that kisses you,

 in your tears, smiles, gestures of love. 

I am everywhere you look. 

Don't look for me 

among the stars anymore, please!

I am the air you breathe, 

the void you try to fill. 

I am the hope of a new sun,

a new meeting

in the kingdom of love.

Non cercarmi tra le stelle

Sono vicino a te,

 nel tuo cuore,

 nei suoi battiti accelerati,

nei tuoi respiri, nella tua mente. 

E sento il tuo amore , 

attraversarmi l’anima, 

lo leggo nei tuoi pensieri.

Lo ritrovo nel  tuo desiderio mai spento 

di ritrovarmi un giorno,

nei sentimenti sofferti,

che agitano il tuo cuore .

 Sono nel vento che lieve  ti accarezza,

 nel sole che ti bacia,

 in ogni tua lacrima, sorriso,  gesto d’amore. 

Sono ovunque si posi il tuo sguardo. 

 Non cercarmi più tra le stelle!

 Sono l’aria che respiri, 

il vuoto che tenti di colmare. 

Sono la speranza di un nuovo sole ,

un nuovo incontro ,

nel regno dell’amore.

GIUSEPPINA GIUDICE

GIUSEPPINA GIUDICE was born in Agropoli. Formerly a teacher of English language and literature at the Liceo “A. Gatto” of Agropoli. She has obtained significant prizes and recognitions for poetry including: one from the Rai of Rome, another with a medal from the Senate (Rome), then the nomination of "Accademica Benemerita" (Rome 2003) and of “Accademica Leopardiana” (Reggio Calabria 2011), a lifetime achievement award in 2010 (Pomigliano d'Arco), the “Honourable Mention for Women” award in 2010 (SA), she was named “Membru D'Onore” and was awarded the Diploma de Excelentia by the city council by Mihailesti (Romania 2004). She was included in Cefaluart's roll of honor of contemporary Italian poets and writers. She is a member of Wiki Poesia and of Republic of Poets. She has published four collections of poems; 5 novels; a collection of short stories (PlaceBook 2021) and three books of fairy tales and stories for children. She is present in various Italian and foreign anthologies. “Europainsieme”, published by Ibiskos-Ulivieri (2006); “Sentimento Latino” (in Romanian and Italian, Bucharest 2004); “Un grito por la paz” (Mexico); “ Striving for Survival”; “Farewell to war”; “Bridges to Tomorrow” (OPA Annual Anthology); Poets of today (Libroitalianoworld); “Voci versate” publishing house Pagine 2018; “Contributions to the History of Italian Literature” vol.4 - Guido Miano Editore - Milan 2009; “M'illumino d'immenso” Pagine publishing house; “Between a picked flower and another donated one” (Aletti editore), “Anthology of selected contemporary poets” (Rome 2020); “Dedicated to…” (Aletti Editore -2020) ; Encyclopedia of contemporary poets n.3 of the Cenacolo Lett. Italian. It is present in the "Speciale Infanzia" anthology 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 editions; in the anthology “Speciale Donna”, ed. 2021, 2022,2023,2024. She participated in the 2021 Spoleto International Festival. The Rai journalist Dr. Corsi Ermanno wrote about her literary activity ( Cultural page of  "Il Denaro" in the years 2011 and 2015). Some of her poems have been translated into Serbian, Albanian,  French, Spanish, Romanian, Polish and English. She participated in the “Pero Zivodraga ZivKovica” Festival in the years 2020 and 2021, 2022, 2023. She is present in the anthology Vibrations litteraires with 31 poems translated into French, in the anthology GEMS-IV (India). She was selected for the 2023 Modigliani prize. She was prized  at “Signs di peace” Assisi 2024.She was nominated “Honorary Academic”  by Universum Academy Switzerland - October 2024.
